Word Fellowship

Word Fellowship Word Fellowship is an expository church that believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Word Fellowship focuses on three main tenets.

Word Fellowship was born out of the frustration of "everyday church." The average American experience has become nothing more than Christian entertainment filled with rockin' bands and a never-ending supply of topical, "cotton candy" messages. Gone are messages relating to Christ, the cost of following Him, and devotion to the historic Gospel. First, the expository, verse by verse teaching of the

Bible. We believe that the Scripture is fully sufficient for living a life of godliness and addresses all the major issues and concerns of mankind. Secondly, we are convinced that each believer has been commissioned by Christ Himself to make disciples of all nations. Therefore, a major thrust in our church must be to train those entrusted to our care in order to multiply Christ-followers. Finally, Word Fellowship desires to make an indelible footprint in our community through service, support and outreach. Mark Marley serves as teaching pastor at Word Fellowship. Along with his wife Dede, they are committed to Jesus Christ and are passionate about the things described above. Mark retired from the Air Force after 26 years of active duty service as a counselor and educator. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of the State of New York and a Master's Degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. With a significant experience in church ministry, Dede and Mark form a unified team at Word Fellowship. Mark and Dede have six grown children and three grandchildren.

Last Sunday, we turned to the Gospel of John and considered the struggle of the Apostle Thomas. Often remembered for his doubt, Scripture shows a man who was also courageous and faithful. We saw how Jesus met him in his skepticism and led him to a settled, confident faith.

This final message before Easter brings us to Matthew 27:27–56, where we see the depth of Christ’s suffering and the weight of what He endured.

Join us tomorrow as we gather to celebrate the risen Lord.

There is something deeply ironic about this passage. Everything that is meant to mock Jesus actually proclaims the truth about Him. The soldiers mock Him as ...

As we continue in the Gospel of Matthew leading up to Easter, this passage records two trials unfolding at the same time on the night of Jesus’ arrest—one inside, where Christ stands before those who condemn Him, and one outside, where Peter stands among others and denies Him.

"In moments of crisis, a person’s true loyalties are revealed. When pressure rises, convictions either harden or collapse. This passage records two simultane...

At the heart of the Word Fellowship blog, "How Do You Know? Defending Truth Through the Christian Worldview," is this reminder: true knowledge has a starting point. Scripture directs us to it—reverence for God as the foundation of all understanding.

Have you ever been asked, “How do you know?”

It’s a simple question, but it points to something much deeper: the foundation of truth and how we know what we know. We’re revisiting a blog that explores how the Christian worldview provides a coherent basis for knowledge, logic, and morality.

If you missed it before, we invite you to read it.

Childhood debates often asked, “How do you know?” That question lies at the heart of apologetics—revealing how only the Christian worldview provides a true foundation for logic, morality, and truth.

After hearing the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, the religious leaders attempt to trap Jesus with a politically charged question about paying taxes to Caesar. But Jesus exposes their hypocrisy, affirms the legitimacy of civil authority, and reminds them that while Caesar may claim a coin, God lays claim to the whole of our lives.

If you’d like to reflect more on this passage, we invite you to watch last week’s sermon on the Word Fellowship YouTube channel.

In the Parable of the Wicked Tenants (Luke 20:9–18), Jesus speaks plainly about rejection—how God’s messengers were repeatedly refused, and how even His beloved Son would be cast aside.

This is one of the last parables Christ will teach, and its warning is unmistakable. It is a declaration of accountability. How we respond to Him matters eternally.
