Gulfcrest Baptist Church

Gulfcrest Baptist Church Nestled on a hilltop in the Gulfcrest community since 1909, is Gulfcrest Baptist. We are a Bible-believing church and we invite you to visit our family. D. H. E.

Gulfcrest Baptist Church is located on Gulfcrest Road, seven miles south of Citronelle. It is situated in a lovely setting on Gulfcrest Road as you turn off Highway 45. In 1909 the original church was started. However, in 1916 that church was destroyed by a storm. Years later S. Monroe began to rebuild the church. This process was slow because of lack of funds. With the faithfulness of S. Monroe a

nd several other families the church began to materialize. Slowly the church became a reality as people would volunteer their time on "Work Days" to work on the building. As God would direct, people would donate funds to help purchase the materials for the building of the church. In 1933 Brother H. Harrell began holding services twice monthly, on the second and fourth Saturday night, in the completed church building. Brother Harrell remained with the church until 1948. In 1951 a building fund was begun for the new building with $100.00. In 1964 construction was begun on the present church building. Gulfcrest Baptist Church was completed and dedicated on August 3, 1969 with the dedication and leadership of Pastor L. Scott and church members. Deacons were Homer Byrd, Oliver Byrd, Dave George, Charles L. Lott and Albert Mason. This church building is two story. The sanctuary, which will seat approximately one hundred people, is on the main floor. The baptistry is located behind the choir loft. The pews in the church were given by different families in memorial to deceased church members.

God blessed Gulfcrest Baptist Church in a beautiful way today.

Our hearts were filled with joy as we watched one of the most moving performances we have ever seen. “A Time for Us,” an adult special needs ministry from Redemption Church of Saraland, presented “Through Mary’s Eyes: The Journey of the Messiah.”

It was a heartwarming and powerful program that touched every heart in the room. This is truly something every church should experience.

He is risen!
As we celebrate Easter, we rejoice in the hope, peace and new life we have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This holy day is a beautiful reminder of God’s great love and the victory we have in Him.
We pray you and your family have a blessed Easter filled with joy, worship and gratitude for our risen Savior.
