What do you do when someone hurts your feelings? How are you supposed to respond when you don’t want to talk with someone or even deal with them because they have made you mad or caused you harm. In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus talks about what we are to do when someone hurts us. Join us for our combined communion service in English and Spanish, 9:30am Sunday morning.

How many times have you wanted to control what Jesus was doing in your life? How many times have you negotiated with God to get the thing that you think is the best? When have you heard bad news and begged God to make it not be the case? Peter hears again that Jesus has to die and doesn’t like it. He fights him. But Jesus tells him to trust in the plan and the purpose of God. We are so often like Peter, we don’t want to struggle or have pain. We think that following Jesus means everything will be w**e and roses, but that is not the case. Sometimes following Jesus means we have to deal with some tough circumstances. Worship with us this week at 8:30, 10:00 and 12:30 (in Spanish) as we explore the joys and sorrows of being a follower of Jesus.

My name is Abigail, and I have been part of the ministry since 2018. I live in Chula Vista and currently work as a legal assistant. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling whenever and wherever I can and taking opportunities to explore new places.

I first joined the ministry at CVPC because of my brother, Albert, who is the worship leader for Daybreak. He needed help with the sound system and knew I had previous experience working with sound. When I was younger, I volunteered helping with sound systems at other churches, and I also studied film and production in college.

What originally started as helping my brother with the sound system grew into something much more. Eight years later, I am still here. It has been a warm and welcoming environment, and I have truly enjoyed being part of the ministry and the community that comes with it.
