A LIFE I NEVER COULD HAVE LIVED!
(The Calling to live a life that we could never live)
By: Dr. Ellen Isip 8-29-2026

Texts: Philippians 2:13, for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Introduction: As ordinary people or citizens of this world, we could give our best shot, best achievement, fulfill our greatest dreams, take on anything to show the world and say, ‘look I got the best of my life’. This is what we call, a self-temporal attainment in life. The truth is when we committed our lives to Jesus, we have a “Holy Calling” that needs a deeper understanding. A calling that is DIFFICULT to accomplish without Christ in us.

Valuing our Holy Calling plus Obedience EQUALS the SECRETS of LIFE’s SUCCESS (Opposite of the world’s standard)

I. As new Believers, our highest goal is to know Jesus
deep with our soul and develop our ‘Intimacy with Jesus’
A. Thirst to know God and desire to be in His
presence (personal devotion); Meditation of Scriptures.
B. Zero-into the Church Family group where God
has called you; support it, stay loyal, express our gifts and our talents. The place of our purpose and calling is the place where we EAT the Word of God.
C. Connect with other Believers (EXPECT
CONFLICT): a big part of our growth.
D. From being Believers, our next goal is to
become DISCIPLES. Then we become DISCIPLERS.

II. The Power behind the Meditation of the Book of the Law
Joshua 1:8, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

A. We will have good success
Psalm 1:2-3, 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he [meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
B. We will gain Wisdom
Colossians 3:16a, 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
C. We will increase our faith
Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
D. We will find joy and fellowship with God
Psalm 104:34, May my meditation be sweet to Him;
I will be glad in the Lord.
E. We will have victory over sin.
Psalm 119:11, Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
RESULTS OF MEDITATING SCRIPTURES
Rebuilds thought structures
Refocus emotions
Redirect desires and goals

III. ‘Yet not I, but Christ” – Holy Spirit in me!
Galatians 2:20, I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
CHANGE OCCURS AS I REALIZE MY TOTAL INABILITY TO DO ANYTHING IN MY OWN STRENGTH AND SEE THE NEED TO CAST MYSELF IN TOTAL DEPENDENCE ON JESUS CHRIST WHO IS MY LIFE.
