BREAK EVERY CHAIN! ARE YOU STILL IN THE CHAIN?
By: Dr. Ellen Isip 5-3-2026
Texts: Isaiah 61:1 [NKJV], “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the -,brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”
John 10:10, 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Introduction: Why is it in spite that we called ourselves Christians, having a genuine relationship with Jesus our Lord and Savior, there are areas in our lives that hinders us to become God wants us to be, that is called the “abundant life”, experiencing freedom, hope and healing.
I. Understand the Reason why Jesus came.
Save us (spirit man), Heal us (physical, soul [mind, emotion, and will]) and Deliver us (breaking the chain)
II. The Enemy: The World, the Flesh and the Devil.
Ephesians 6:12, 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
2Timothy 2:4, No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
III. Purpose of Breaking the Chain.
1Thessalonians 5:23b, “…may your whole spirit,
soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Process of Restoration (Sanctification): God wants our lives to move from the past into a Destiny-filled future, thereby causing change, transformation and stability. Bring our lives accountable to God and others.
IV. Which chains to break free from?
1. Present and past Real-life issues strongholds
Hebrew 12:1b, “… let us lay aside every weight, and
the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Galatians 5:1, Stand fast therefore in the liberty by
which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bo***ge.
2. Generational Strongholds.
Exodus 34:7, 7 keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
Deuteronomy 7:9, 9 “Therefore know that the Lord
your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;
3. Unforgiveness Strongholds
Ephesians 4:31-32, 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger,
clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Matthew 6:14-15, 14 “For if you forgive men their
trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
4. Mental Strongholds and Unhealthy Soul Ties.
Romans 8:13, 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Philippians 4:8, 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Conclusion: Acknowledge, Repent and Renounce.
The Chains could only be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit.
