The day after labor Day in 1941, Vicar Loren A. Rumsch canvassed the San Diego South Bay area to check the feasibility of a new mission church. On Sunday, September 28, 1941 the first service was held at the Chula Vista Women's Club. Of the 51 in attendance, 39 were members of Grace Lutheran to give their little mission support. Pilgrim will begin events of celebration in September 2016 and wishes
to reach out to all to join in celebrating the past 75 years of ministry and to enthusiastically go forth in the next 75 years to fulfill the Great Commission - "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." -Matthew 28:19-20
