Celebrate Recovery (CR) is an American, Christ-based approach to recovery that was a response to twelve-step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous. It was founded in 1990 by Pastor John Baker of Saddleback Church, and is aimed at all "hurts, habits, and hang-ups", including but not exclusive to: high anxiety; co-dependency; compulsive behaviors; s*x addiction; financial dysfunction; drug and alcoh

ol addictions; and eating disorders. The founders felt that Alcoholics Anonymous was too vague in referring to God as a "higher power", and wanted a more specifically Christ-based program. Celebrate Recovery utilizes eight Recovery Principles that are based on the Sermon on the Mount. What Happens at a Celebrate Recovery (CR) Meeting? Unlike more traditional support groups like AA and NA, Celebrate Recovery (CR) meetings are longer in duration and are usually split up into two parts. The first part of a Celebrate Recovery meeting is considered a big group meeting in which members listen to and sing music that is both uplifting and inspiring. After music, the group leader will provide a teaching based either on one of the 12-steps or the 8 principles of CR. The second part of a Celebrate Recovery meeting is small group meetings in which the group as a whole will break into smaller more intimate groups to further discuss and apply what we’ve learned with others who are struggling with the same issues. We are always seeking volunteers with recovery experience to help in various capacities and commitment levels. If you would like more information on meetings or would like to be involved please reach out at [email protected]

I wanted to take a moment to talk about something that's close to my heart. We often see people on social media, appearing like they have it all together, chasing success, and living the hustle. But the truth is, behind those smiles and achievements, there might be battles we know nothing about.

πŸ’” It's crucial to remember that every person you meet is fighting their own battles, and sometimes, those battles are invisible. Let's break the stigma surrounding mental health and create a safe space for open conversations.

❀️ Today, I'm here to remind you to check in on one another. A simple "How are you?" can mean the world to someone who's struggling. A compassionate message, a phone call, or just spending time together can make a huge difference.

✨ Let's replace judgment with empathy, and let's offer support instead of silence. You never know how much your kindness can impact someone's life. It's okay not to have it all together; it's okay to seek help when needed.

πŸ’ͺ Together, we can create a world where mental health is a priority, and no one feels alone in their journey. Let's hold up our hands and hearts to break the stigma and spread love and understanding.

🌟 Remember, you are not alone, and there is always hope. Reach out, and let's be there for each other.
