St. Thomas Episcopal Church

St. Thomas Episcopal Church On Sundays we meet in person and on Zoom at 10am. Thursday Evening Prayer is at 7pm on Zoom only. Zoom information is on our website. Good Friday liturgy.

Holy Eucharist is celebrated each Sunday at 10 AM and on all major Holy Days. An Evening Prayer service is offered each Wednesday at 7pm on Zoom. There is the tradition of using Rite I during the seasons of Advent and Lent and Rite II the rest of the year. On certain High Holy Days, including the evening mass on Christmas and Easter Sunday, incense is used. Ours is a singing congregation. We sing

three to five hymns in every Sunday service and chant the Gradual Psalm (except during the summer). We have an adult volunteer choir of 8-10 members and a two-manual action pipe organ. The laity is very much involved in worship. There is an active Altar guild which faithfully prepares the appointments for all services. A number of boys and girls, both elementary-aged and mid- and sr.-high youth, serve as crucifers and acolytes on a rotating basis. There are several licensed Chalice Bearers and Lay Readers who participate in the Sunday service of Holy Eucharist on a rotating schedule. We observe all the Prayer Book Proper Liturgies for Special Days including:

Ash Wednesday liturgy with Imposition of Ashes. Palm Sunday liturgy of the palms and procession into the Church. Maundy Thursday with Holy Eucharist and Ceremony of Washing of Feet and stripping of the Altar. The Great Vigil of Easter, includes the Lighting of the Paschal Candle.
