Hey gang - the JC has been given the green lite to sing a couple songs at the 50th Anniversary. Please leave any comments or suggestions, but we are thinking just meeting at the church at 9:30 that morning, saying our "pleasantries", & then running thru a couple songs. Church starts at 10:30. Catered meal to follow & then removing cornerstone & opening time capsule. They are planning to have a TV station out there. They would like to get an idea of how many are coming, so please tell us in comments if you are gonna join us! We are pretty excited about this; we are driving all the way from Florida to be a part of this historical event!!!

UPDATE: This will be here before we know it, so PLEASE leave a comment & commit to coming!! Church is wanting to have a count to order the catered food!! You know, we don't share well, so we need to have enuf!! CYA soon!!!

HEY, boys & girls - can ya believe it - CCCU on Panhandle is FIFTY yrs old this year!! The church has a new pastor, Steve Wilson (& no, not our Steve Wilson), & they are having a Family Fun Day on Sept 13th (9:30 SS. 10:30 service), They are planning a day of catered meal, bounce houses, & other games. They are going to crack open the 1976 Cornerstone on SW corner of bldg, & for those that don't know or remember, we installed a timeline behind it! I am so excited to see what is in there, & I think they are going to have a TV crew there. They would probably let JC sing a song or two if enuf people commit to coming. First off, we gotta see if we can make it up. Anybody still have their orange outfits???

Hello all from Florida! As mentioned before, my brother Edwin has a very serious cancer cell growing behind his right ear. When we were up there couple months ago, it was size of marble, but now is bout size of a baseball!!! I guess they tried another treatment on him, but I am just dumbfounded it has taken this long to get surgery, but finally the day has arrived, & that is tomorrow, Monday 27th early morning. I know lots on here still are "keepin' the faith" & believe in the power of prayer, so let's join together & bombard Heaven for a positive outcome. Guess it will be a long surgery, due to having to remove most of ear, cut into bone, & then skin grafts. He has been in such pain last couple months, but as of yesterday, he could still manage a smile! He has some tuff recover time ahead, but he is a trooper!! I think most of us can say, Edwin was a big influence on our younger lives as new Christians & I thank God for his ministry thru the years!!!
UPDATE: After a long day, Marlene Martin Gardner, finally got a text that all went well. I am here with her waiting for him to wake up. Thank you for all the prayers!!

One of the sweetest ladies ever, Greta Black passed to Glory June 9th. Sorry for the late report, but I just now found out about it.

Hey everyone, just letting you all know our beloved pastor Edwin Gardner has been diagnosed with cancer. He has a tumor behind his ear that has grown rapidly, he will be having surgery July 1st. At this time they do not know if it is anywhere else in his body, but I would encourage you to pray for him and send him a card to encourage him and maybe let him know what his ministry meant to you. The address is 2440 NW 54th Blvd. Gainesville Fla. 32653. Edwin has lost 60+ lbs - (not due to any health-related issues).

UPDATE - Marlene just texted that PET scan DID NOT find cancer anywhere else in his body. They were praising God out loud! We could start calling that PGOL!!!! Thank Pam for starting this post!
