NO BRO TIME TOMORROW! Here is your "Virtual" day assginment:
NO ON CAMPUS BRO time tomorrow! Let’s call it a “virtual” day!
Men, here is your assignment:
God's Word - READ Acts 24
TEXT, CALL, OR MEET WITH YOUR GROUP AND DISCUSS THESE QUESTIONS - Rules for for conversations (1) everybody talks - we are here to grow together as Disciples. If you don't talk, you don't grow. (2) everybody talks - don't take up all the time. (3) confidentiality - what's said here stays here. IF YOU DON'T ABIDE BY THE RULES, YOU CANNOT COME BACK!
1. In verse 1, Paul is brought before Governor Felix, and had to listen to accusations made against him and his faith by his enemies. Have you ever been on trial and had to listen to people speak negatively to you about your faith? What did you do? How did you act and react? We've asked this question before, but I'll ask it again: If it were illegal to be a Christian today, would your life and the words you speak be enough to convict you?
2. In verse 10, Paul get's his chance to speak to the Governor about his actions. Who is the most influential person that you've talked to? Where you confident, like Paul, or where you starstruck and shy? Did you talk to him/her about Jesus and your faith? Why? Why not?
3. What is a good way or transitioning statement or question to help you in conversations begin to talk about Jesus without it seeming forced and not genuine? After some thought, here is a tip on how to talk about Jesus - Remember our Road "reach" strategy? If you can't think of how to talk about Jesus or the opportunity doesn't come up, invite the person into your life by inviting them over for dinner or something non-threatening. You don't always have to talk about Jesus in every conversation, but our lives and words should point people to Jesus over time. Do you have a friend that you are helping grow in or begin a relationship with Jesus? Call/text them now and invite them to be a part of your plan after you figure out your next steps.
4. In Paul's discussion to Felix, in verse 16 he states, "I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man." What we have on our minds can either help your day or ruin your day. Don't walk around in-prisoned in your mind. Confess what you need to confess and move on with your day!
