In Valley Kids we’ve been talking about Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians. Letters of encouragement in the face of persecution. And letters that explore the great Day of Lord when Jesus will return and set everything right. Very big and heavy topics, and yes, the kids learn about them. Because persecution still happens, sadly. But the Day of the Lord is still coming, thankfully. So our hope is in the Lord!
Picture 2: We played a game to illustrate how hard it can be to persevere when you’ve got both positive and negative voices all around you trying to influence you. The Thessalonians Christians were holding onto Jesus despite all the negative voices (and worse) around them. We can be encouraged by their example as we step out into the world, holding onto Jesus in the face of trouble.
Picture 3: We worked together to unscramble our memory verse, 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. We’ve been talking about the importance of love in everything we do and everything we say. It’s all about loving God and loving others!
