Dear Family and Friends of Christ-Centered Community Church,

It is with broad ranging emotions that I write this letter to you. As most of you know 2022 was a year of changes and challenges for Christ-Centered Community Church (C4) and Sunday, December 18th was our final gathering. The service was difficult yet inspirational as we reflected on the 25-year ministry of C4 and were challenged to remain connected to the Vine (John 15:1-17) as we “GO and be the church scattered” (Matthew 28:16-20).

From October 4th, 1997 to December 18th, 2022, the people of C4 served unselfishly to comfort the hurting, feed the hungry, build shelter for the homeless, help overcome addictions, reconcile marriages, heal relationships, and bring the lost into a relationship with Jesus Christ. While the entity known as C4 will no longer exist, the ministry of those who called C4 their home will continue as C4 family members are now scattered throughout the United States and beyond. The remnant of C4 members that remain in Southern California are prayerfully seeking God’s direction where to serve.

Looking back on the last 9 months of 2022, I have no doubt that the events of the year were God ordained and orchestrated to the glory of His kingdom, with each measure being played out as part of a grand symphony. Standing on Romans 8:28 and Psalm 73:23, the hope and promises that God maintains control, provided a firm foundation during what seemed to be uncontrolled turmoil. However, through God’s divinity, every question immediately received an answer, every challenge was accompanied by a solution, every need was met, and every ministry that relied on C4 was given a new home to continue to thrive and serve. God prepared all these paths before we even entered the arena of the unknown.

The C4 Leadership Team would like to thank each member, volunteer, and ministry partner for the many years of partnership. It was only through your partnership, serving under the leadership of our Lord Jesus Christ, that so many lives were impacted. May God richly bless and multiply the legacy of Christ-Centered Community Church. Amen!

I AM (Part 6 - The Resurrection and the Life) - Martha and Mary were in the depths of despair and mourning. Their beloved brother had died. Jesus had not come to heal their provider. Now what were they to do? When Jesus finally arrived, days later, he comforted both women, in different ways. He told Martha, “Your brother will rise again,” which she misunderstood. He told her, “I AM the resurrection and the life.” WIth Mary, he was angered by the crowds, but wept with her.
Finally, foreshadowing what he would later do Himself; Jesus cried out, “Lazarus, Come Out!” Jesus IS the Resurrection and the Life. In Him there is no darkness! In Him there is no death! In Him there is no defeat! In the Great I AM, there is life, healing, deliverance, restoration, and resurrection. For those in Christ, there is no death! Jesus IS our Resurrection and Life!

8/14/2022 - A CONVERSATIONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD (Part 3) - We are on a journey. The goal is being like-Christ (Christlike). We are learning from Jesus how to live our life, as if He were living our life. Jesus never did anything apart from His Father, He had a conversational relationship with His Father. Jesus told us to Remain (abide) in Him as he is in the Father. Today we are going to step back into the Beatitudes as a framework for better understanding of the journey of discipleship (learning to be like Jesus). We are going to borrow from Celebrate Recovery the eight principles for recovery. They are conveniently presented in the acrostic R.E.C.O.V.E.R.Y. For our time, we are going to cast these in three categories and another acrostic S.U.V. No, not a Sport Utility Vehicle, but Surrender, Understand, and Victory. So, let’s sit at the feet of Jesus once again and learn from Him how to live in the character and power of God.

This Sunday we’ll wrap up one of the most important sermon series I’ve ever shared with you. This final message from INTERIOR reDESIGN is at the top of importance. As most of you hopefully know by now, this will be my final sermon as Pastor of C4 Church. This comes with many thoughts and emotions for all of us.
