Well friends it is now official. I am retiring from my Pastoral ministry. I have been serving the wonderful people of Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene for 27 1/2 as Senior Pastor and another two years as Youth Pastor. The people of Cornerstone have been WONDERFUL people to serve! They have blessed Sue and I beyond words. They lovingly and patiently walked with us through our daughter Sherry's cancer and death (four years ago today). To say "We love You" feels incredibly inadequate, but they are the only words I have.
It has also been a blessing an honor to serve the City of Chino these past 27 years. I have served on the Chamber of Commerce, The YMCA and best of all 27 years as a Police Chaplain. I will be stepping down from my position as chaplain on October 30th.
I do not have the actual date set for my last Sunday at Cornerstone, but most likely it will be Sunday November 11th. I will update this when I can set the date for certain.
This is a VERY emotional time for both Sue and I and I have more to share, but today especially with the remembrance of my daughter's death it is too hard to say much. I will update this post in a few days.
THANK YOU to my Cornerstone family for allowing me to serve you all these years. You will get a few extra jewels in your heavenly crown for putting up with me all these years.

Dear Cornerstone. The "church" mentioned in this article was US! I am SO proud of the people of Cornerstone and their desire to truly BE the church! Thank You for your gifts to our CARE fund that made this possible.

Last week, our Quality-of-Life officers responded to the area of Pine Avenue and Mill Creek Avenue on reports of someone sleeping in a tent in the grass area. Officers contacted a male who was packing up to leave for work. Officers learned he had been experiencing homelessness for the past several months and recently started a new job. Quality-of-Life officers bought him lunch and quickly started working on resources to assist him.

Housing resources were located at a brand-new men’s home in a neighboring city. The house manager was contacted and provided details of the home, which charges a nominal fee for rent. He was given the details and was interested in the home but would not have funds until he started collecting his paychecks in 2 weeks. The house manager requested that he tour the home; therefore, officers transported him for a tour and interview.

A local church graciously agreed to use donated funds for the first month’s rent if he was accepted to the home. After the interview, he was approved to move in immediately and his first month was covered by the donation. Community Services provided him with a 7-day bus pass to assist him with getting to and from work over the weekend. With even more generous donations from our faith-based partners, this morning he was provided with a bicycle and helmet to further assist him with transportation.

This was another great partnership between the Quality-of-Life team, Community Services, and all the resources available through our faith-based partners to help a person in need.
