I know some Christians might take offense (or shake their heads) when they see postings about the connection between Christianity and America. They may believe that Jesus never intended for his people to seek positions of political power, therefore, we should not be involved in government. They propose that God is all about giving mankind the ability to choose, therefore, we should not have laws prohibiting certain behaviors. They may take offense to people referring to this land as a Christian nation since our past actions haven’t always been Christ-like. If this describes you today, can you consider this one question? What’s the alternative? If you hold to Judeo/Christian values (and you don’t have to be a Christian to do that by the way), I would expect you would have the wisdom to govern righteously and with divine wisdom. Can we expect that from the ungodly? Dwight D. Eisenhower said that when he had a decision to make as President, he would listen to people on both sides of the political aisle, then base his decision on one question: “What is good for America?” If we want leaders to make decisions resulting in our good, we had better make sure they know the definition of the word. On the other hand, if all the “good” men do nothing, evil will accomplish its purpose (Ben Franklin – “All that is necessary for the accomplishment of evil is that good men do nothing.”) May God bless this sacred day in America. If you leave a comment, I will not reply. If you want to discuss, just message me.
