Our Eternal Inheritance

Since Christ is the Seed of Abramham He therefore will confirm the promises "made unto the fathers" (Roman's 15:8). And who are the fathers? The Bible says that the fathers are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Acts 3:13).

God made a fantastic promise of an awesome Inheritance to Abraham because of his willingness to obey God (Genesis 12:5-7). Now what was the promise?

Notice God promised to give THE LAND OF CANAAN, referred to as Palestine today, to Abraham and his Seed. His Seed is Christ and we are Joint Heirs with Him--whether we be Jew or Gentile. Now how long was this inheritance to last? Was it only for one generation? Notice Genesis 13:15: "For all the land which thou sees, to thee will I give it, and to thy Seed FOREVER"!

We are Joint Heirs with Christ and we are now a part of the Seed of Abraham through Christ and "Heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:29). So what was the promise? Was the inheritance Heaven?

No, rather it was a promise of ETERNAL INHERITANCE of the PROMISED LAND! The Apostle Paul added that this promise was eventually extended to include the WHOLE EARTH (Roman's 4:13).

This promise was made unconditional upon his obedience in offering up Isaac in sacrifice to God (Genesis 22:15-18). In (Genesis 26:3-5) the promise was immediately given to Abraham's son Isaac).

Our Eternal Inheritance
Is It really "Heaven"?

We are told in Romans 8:13 that we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ. An heir is waiting to inherit something and a "joint" heir inherits the same thing as another. We will inheritance whatever Christ inherits. That's why we are Joint Heirs, or equal heirs with Him.

God made a promise to Christ because He is the Seed of Abraham. The Apostle Paul said that the promise made to Abraham would also be given to the Gentiles due to their faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians3:14).

Abraham is called not only the father of the Israelites, but he is considered to be the spiritual father of all that believe on Christ , including the Gentiles(Roman's 4:11 and Galatians 3:7-9).

Now the promise of the inheritance to both Israelites and Gentiles comes through the covenant God made with Abraham since the promise was specifically made with His Seed who was Christ(Galatian 3:16). Both Israelites and Gentiles who accept Christ are then spiritually begotten into the family of Abraham and are heirs according to the promise. (Galations 3:28-29).

Three Types of "Heaven"

The First Heaven

In Genesis 1:8,20 we read that God called the "firmament" (the atmosphere) "heaven". So the air above us---- the sky, Is referred to as "heaven."
In a large number of scriptures we read that that the foul (birds) fly in "heaven," including storks and eagles (Matthew 6:26, Revelation 19:17, Psalms 104:12, Jobs 12:17) Where do birds fly, but in the sky.
We also read that the dew falls from heaven along with the rain and snow. This can be nothing other than the atmosphere above us, where the birds fly and from which the dew and rain fall (Isaiah 55:10, Jobs 37:6). Obviously then this is one of the three Heavens referred to in the Bible.

Tha Second Heaven

The next heaven is the expanse of outer space which includes the sun, moon, and stars ( Deuteronomy 4:19, Deuteronomy 28:62, Revelation 6:13).

The Third Heaven

Now finally, what is the"third heaven" Paul spoke of? If you read his testimony it is rather obvious. This is the Heaven that Jesus also spoke of when he said "Our Father, which art in Heaven." The third heaven is the place where God lives, with Jesus and the angels. Heaven is God's Home, depicted as a real literal, very real city (also called the New Jerusalem). It apparently has real buildings and streets. But it is replete with noticeable opulence.

Christ revealed to John that the streets are paved with gold! (Revelation 21:21). So this third Heaven is the City of God. It is this third Heaven we are interested in. Does the Bible promise the third Heaven as the eternal reward of the righteous, of the born again saints who inherit God's Kingdom?

Will Christians Go to Heaven?

DOES THE BIBLE teach that Christians will ultimately go to Heaven? Is Heaven promised as the reward of the saved? If so, where are these promises in the Bible? And when do Christians receive their inheritance?

Three "Heavens"
Believe it or not the Bible speaks of three Heavens. Notice Paul mentions how a man was caught in vision to what he called the "third heaven" (II Corinthians 12:2). If there are at least three Heavens then we need to know what they are.

Here we must not lean on private interpretation (II Peter 1:20) but go to the Scriptures to learn what each of these "Heavens " are.

If you have a copy of Strongs Exhaustive Concordance you may want to look up the word "heaven" and see for yourself how the word is used. For it does indeed speak of three different types of "heaven."

In Revelation 19, we read that Jesus returns to rule this Earth as it's king and Lord! Notice carefully, It does not say what most people believe--- that Jesus is returning merely to take His people "to Heaven". Rather, he is coming. here to reign--- to rule--- over the entire Earth! He will immediately resurrect those who have "died in Christ"-----the prophets and righteous saints-----and will give them positions in His Kingdom to rule with Him! (Revelation 20:4. The Bible also teaches that Christ will change the mortal bodies of those who are still alive and "catch away" or "rapture" these living saints to meet Him in the clouds of heaven, (the atmosphere) joining with the resurrected saints (1Corinthians 15:51-52 & 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17).

This occurs during the "Day of the Lord" when Christ returns to stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:1+4).

After gathering all the resurrected saints from the dead with Him in the clouds of heaven ( the sky, the "first heaven" ------- not the "third Heaven" or Paradise where God lives, (2 Corinthians 12:2+4), and having "raptured" all the living saints from around the world to assemble with Him in the clouds, He will then bring these resurrected and immortal saints back with Him to Jerusalem! (Zechariah 14:5). In that day, (the Day of the Lord) the Lord will be King over all the Earth-------'not Heaven! (verse 9).

Let's do as the Word of God say, Prove All Things!!

The Kingdom of God

This new world will be brought about by the establishment of the Kingdom of God which Christ will establish at his return. Be sure to read in your own Bible the description of this Kingdom of God in Daniel, 2:44 and Daniel 7:13- 14! The Kingdom of God is not the millennium itself but is the government of God which will rule the entire world at this time.

The Apostle Paul wrote that God had not given the angels rulership over "The World To come whereof we speak" ( Hebrews 2:5). The Apostles preached about " The World to come"!
How many today know this message?

But what is that "world"? Is it Heaven? Or is it a whole new world or society on this Earth?

Let's not offer an opinion or quote what we have already heard. Let's believe what the Bible teaches. Join us tomorrow for the continuance!
May the "Truth of God" stir up the " Spirit of God" within you, to obedience!!

Revelation 1:10
"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day..." ( not the first day of the week, Sunday). This expression "the Lord's Day" refers to "the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord" found throughout the prophecies of the Old Testament. It is the time of God's wrath on the beast power----- the final judgements on the rebellious nations of the world at the End Time proceeded immediately by the " heavenly signs" (Joel 2:1,10; 3:15.

The whole book of Joel deals with the Day of the Lord. Also the whole book of Revelation deals with the Day of the Lord. Seven trumpets are to sound in the Day of the Lord and Jesus returns at the seventh and "last trumpet " 1 Corinthians 15:52).

Jesus said this Day of the Lord (identified by the heavenly signs will occur "immediately after the Tribulation" (Matthew 24:28). Is it possible that some of us living today will still be alive during the Tribulation?

Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). Jesus also said, "Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me" (John 14:21). Today is Saturday, the 7th day of the week, the Sabbath of the Lord. One of the Ten Commandments. To remember the Sabbath is to do it. (Exodus 20:18; Deuteronomy 5:12. People of the most High God the Ten Commandments were not abolished, but they are perpetual, (meaning never ending or changing). Let's keep the Sabbath Holy!!

Fulfilled and Fulfil ?
Isaiah 40:8
" The grass withered, the flower fadeth: but THE WORD OF OUR GOD shall stand forever"!
This is why Jesus said that His words would never pass away until Heaven and Earth pass away! (Matthew 24:35).
Jesus also said: " For verily I say unto you, till heaven and Earth pass, one Jot or one tittle Shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled" (Matthew 5:18). The Greek word translated "fulfilled" her is a totally different Greek word than the word translated "fulfill" in verse 17.
Christ came to "fulfill" the law in His own personal life. The Greek word "fulfill" in verse 17 is personal and means to "fill to the full" implying to fulfill the law fully with OBEDIENCE. Strong's Lexicon defines this word to mean "cram to the full." That is, with obedience. And He did.
But the word translated "fulfilled" in verse 18 is a totally different Greek word. This word, genetai means "TO COME TO PASS" or "to be accomplished. "
What must "come to pass" before one single jot or tittle of the Law of Moses passes away? Jesus said it was the very last prophecy found in the Bible-----that heaven and earth would "pass away"! (Read this in Revelation 21:1). So this means that in the Law of Moses---not a single commandment, statute, or ordinance----has "passed away" but is still in force and effect----thereby being obligatory upon Christians TODAY (see Matthew 5:19 and Luke16:17!).
