We eat this bread and drink this cup,
Your precious Work believing
That Your true body and Your Blood
Our lips are here receiving.
This Word Remains forever true,
All things are possible with You,
For You are the Lord Almighty.
(LSB 622 verse 4)

We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:19-20)

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
John 3:17-18

Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. (John 14:23-24)

Our Present Church
The project of the er****on of the sanctuary used today actually began in October, 1939.

The pastor at that time, the Rev. Fred C. Stein, interested the students of Chillicothe Business College, as well as others, in accumulating a large collection of vari-colored rocks from all over the United States. As these rocks were collected, they were piled behind the parsonage at 906 Walnut Street.

Scores of rocks, large and small, came from all parts of the nation -- from the top of Pike's Peak, the top of Mt. Evans, the Black Hills, from the bed of Roaring River, from old Spanish diggings in the Southwest, and from many places in Canada. By April, 1942, when work was started on the new church, there was approximately 110 - 112 tons of rocks, which had been stockpiled.

After two years and four months of labor, the building of the sanctuary was completed. Te sanctuary was dedicated on August 6, 1944, with 600 persons in attendance.

From evil, Lord deliver us,
The times and days are perilous.
Redeem us from eternal death.
And, when we yield our dying breath,
Console us, grant us calm release,
Ant take our souls to You in peace.
(LSB 766 verse 8)

Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1 16-17)

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1)

Our Second Church
The District Mission Board assisted in the purchase of a building which would server as both a chapel and parsonage. The Eylenburg residence, at 906 Walnut Street, was purchased. The first floor was converted into a chapel, and the second floor was set aside as a residence for the pastor.
This building was dedicated on May 21, 1931. The congregation made its organization official by adopting a constitution
on August 18. 1931.
The Ladies' Aid Society was organized on January 19,1933. With its many works and contributions, the society has been
a great assistace in a moral, material and missionary way to the church, and its pastors, throughout the years.
By 1939, the congregation totaled 175 souls with 76 being townspeople, and the balance being from the Industrial Training
School and the Chillicothe Business College.

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
