"If our mission is to contend for the true faith, to faithfully guard what has been entrusted to God’s holy people, what in the world are we supposed to do? This battle feels hopeless, because there is filth and falsehood everywhere. It has crept into the church and is wreaking havoc. We might be able to squeegee out a little corner, but how can we possibly stem the tide of culture’s onslaught & self-pursuit? If we fight the way the world fights, we only dig ourselves deeper. We may win a battle here or there, but ultimately lose the war. Jude’s answer is, so don’t. Don’t fight like the world. Don’t be like the scoffers. In fact, be the opposite. Because the mission is accomplished not by how much you do, but by who you choose to become. And if it doesn’t look different than the enemy, then you missed the point." -Pastor Ryan Bash

"This is who you are because it’s what He has declared. It’s the model He gave us through Jesus Himself. Attentive, ready, beloved, faithful. And here’s what’s awesome. When we embrace that identity that He’s given to us, when we allow Him to shape us and mold us into the character of Christ, what happens? To the called ones … Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance (Jude 2). As we become who He has called us to be, the fruit of that is mercy: my sins are forgiven. Peace: I don’t have to live with the burden of whether or not I’m enough or if I matter. The fruit is love: I am able to love others, just as I am so richly loved by God. Do you have that fruit in your life? Do you long for it? If so, then the place where it must begin today is surrender. Have you offered Him all of yourself, your plans, your resources, your fears, your hurts, your strengths, your brokenness, your time?" -Pastor Ryan Bash
