Blessed Feast of the Holy Theophany!
We marked our first celebration of the Theophany as a parish. On this feast, we celebrate Christ’s baptism in the Jordan River.
As the Church reminds us in her hymnology:
“God the Father, the Pantocrator, eternal and everlasting, had compassion upon His image and His creature which He created, and sent His Only-Begotten who came, was incarnate, and came to the Jordan and was baptized by John, and set us free from slavery to the overpowering one through the rite of holy Baptism.”
