Sharon Baptist Church Sharon Baptist Church is a body of believers who organized in 1914 with only a few large families.

Over the years God has brought many other families to join with us in pursuing Christ and making Him known. Today, Sharon Baptist Church is the beneficiary of over 100 years of God’s favor and faithfulness to our body. Even though we might not look like we did in 1914, with just a few large families; a couple of things remain the same: we are still the only church in the Friend Community, east of

Chickasha, and God is still using us to bring the hope of the Gospel to the hearts and homes of those who live in and around our community.

Next Generation:

Our VBS kickoff was spent praying and seeking the Lord for those we will impact through this summer’s ministry. We calculated over 200 years of collective experience with VBS among us. We also reminisced about those who have been saved through this ministry. We have great expectations for this year!

OBU Summer Courses for 2026 offer a wide range of options for students looking to stay on track or get ahead. With tuition set at $350 per credit hour, less than half the regular rate, students can continue their education with both quality and value in mind.

Most courses are offered online, making it possible to learn from anywhere while completing core requirements or exploring new areas of study. Visiting students are also welcome, with credits designed to transfer back to their home institutions.

Registration for summer and fall 2026 is now open.

It was a joy to sit under the preaching of Oscar Rodriguez, freshman at Oklahoma Baptist University studying Theology and Ministry, today in morning worship. Oscar grew up here at Sharon and was saved at age 9 because of the many faithful brothers and sisters who have ministered here. Reaching the Next Generation is about sharing in the discipleship with them, building in opportunities for God to use them, and praying for them. We are very proud of him.
