There are several updates that need to be covered, so please read carefully. Sorry this is so long!
Because our next scheduled meeting date is July 4th, we will move it to the following Saturday, July 11, so families can enjoy their holiday.
If your child missed the last meeting, please complete the following items to finish the Our Flag badge (p 110):
Tenderhearts - #2 & #4
Explorers - #9, #10, #12, #14
Pioneers/Patriots - #16 (I have the Flag Code if you need it), #17, #18, & choose 3 of the extras (20-23)
Most, if not all of this information can be found online.
Because we started our year late and the lockdown slowed us down, we are behind in completing a flower with petals from each frontier. There is a badge from the Outdoor Frontier that we can start and complete at our next meeting on July 11. It is the Fire Safety & Fire Building badge (p 223) I will let you know closer to the time where we will have this meeting.
The final frontier needed to complete a full flower is the Science and Technology Frontier. There are a few badges that can be completed at home. Choose which one interests you and complete it by the end of July.
1) Computer Fun (p 297)
2) Engineering (p 300) - some presentation work with this one
3) Internet Adventure (p 315)
4) Kitchen Scientist (p 316) - #14& #16 can be altered to do online
5) Space Exploration (p 329) - #10, #20, & #23 can be altered for online
If you are missing another frontier petal, let us know and you can find a badge to complete for it.
Now for something extra fun! There is a new specialty patch, different from a badge and worn in a separate location on your vest/sash, called the Great Camp-In Challenge. It was designed for having fun during social distancing and would be a fun family activity. I will post a picture of the patch requirements below. We are looking forward to seeing pictures of your camping adventure!
