The Chickasaw Methodist Church Ageless Adventurers hit the road today to enjoy awesome catfish at the Rocky Creek Catfish Cabin in Lucedale, MS. We then headed to Charlie's Upick Vegetables to buy some great summer vegetables. As the saying goes...."and a good time was had by all."

Since our beloved nation will turn 250 years old next week, for the next two Sundays at our church, we will be hearing messages in worship about God's dream for freedom for all people and how the ideals of the U.S. are inspired by the great vision of Jesus for all people to be free - John 8:36. One of the most famous symbols of freedom as Americans is the Liberty Bell. We will talk a little about the Liberty Bell on this coming Sunday, even answer a few questions like: What is written on it? What scripture passage is written on it? (Yes there is one.) When did that bell get cracked? Was it actually rung on July 4, 1776? What roads trips have this famous bell taken and when? Bonus, where is there a replica of the Liberty Bell that anyone can ring?

It is never too late for anyone to move forward in one's relationship with God. A homebound couple that I have been visiting in their home asked me about being baptized. I was glad to talk about the seriousness of the action and the promises of God to those who are baptized. So, John and Cindy Lyon met today at our sanctuary at 2:00 for a smaller scale baptism service to declare their faith in Christ, promise to live for God all the rest of their lives and to receive the promised work of the Holy Spirit in their lives for all of eternity. John's dementia causes him to be confused by crowds so we arranged a smaller service with family and friends. God was present there today and that was the most crucial part of the experience.

Our monthly men's club breakfast is always a great time together. Today's time together had a greater level of awesom...

Our monthly men's club breakfast is always a great time together. Today's time together had a greater level of awesomeness about it. We had spouses and family members with us, there were some first-time attendees, and some folks with us we had not seen in a longtime. The food was delicious, the fellowship was warm, and Bryan's message of tuning your life to God's plan was extra inspiring!
