2026.09.08 聆聽永活之主的聲音

今日讀經: 歌羅西書 1:15-20

「凡經上所指著自己的話，（耶穌）都給他們講解明白了。」 - 路 24:27

今天的主題經文再次來自以馬忤斯路上的故事。我們已經看到，那兩個門徒因遇見永活的道—耶穌，心裡變得火熱。今天我們進一步看到，他們的心如何與永活耶穌的教導產生共鳴。

路加指出，耶穌向他們講解《聖經》時，有一個清楚的脈絡：祂讓門徒重新思想舊約中那些指向彌賽亞的經文和故事。這兩個門徒正在聆聽永活的耶穌，親自教導他們一切需要知道、關乎祂自己的事！

我們已經提過，我們正活在一個高度崇尚自我的時代。生命中的一切彷彿都是關乎「我、我、我」—我想要甚麼、我需要甚麼。雖然耶穌的好消息與我們每個人都有切身關係，但我們必須提醒自己，《聖經》不是一本自我提升的書，也不只是關乎「我」和我的需要。

我十分認同神學家和牧者 Tim Keller 對這方面的看法。他說，讀《聖經》有兩種方式：你可以把它讀成一本關乎你自己，以及你必須做甚麼才能蒙福的書；或者，你可以把《聖經》的每一部分，都看作關乎耶穌，以及祂為你所成就的一切。

基督教信仰的一切，都以那位復活並掌權的耶穌為中心。祂就是永活的道，願我們的心因愛祂而火熱。

永活的耶穌，無論我們身在何處，求你今天與我們相遇。當你與我們相遇時，願我們敞開心靈，領受你的話語，聆聽你的聲音。求你幫助我們以信心和順服來回應。阿們。

Today Scripture: Colossians 1:15-20

THE LIVING JESUS

[Jesus] explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. —Luke 24:27

Our theme verse today is from the Emmaus road story once again. We have seen that the two disciples’ hearts burned within them because of their encounter with Jesus, the living Word. Today we see that their hearts resonated with the teaching of the living Jesus.

Luke shows that as Jesus explained the Scriptures to them, he had a clear plan. He was reminding the disciples of Old Testament texts and stories that pointed to the Messiah. These disciples were listening to the living Jesus teaching them all that they needed to know about him!

We have acknowledged that we live in an age in which focus on the self is a high ideal. Everything in life is about “me, me, me”—what I want and what I need. Although the good news of Jesus is deeply personal, it is vital to remind ourselves that the Bible is not a self-help book or just about what matters to “me.”

I love what theologian and pastor Tim Keller said about this. He said that there are only two ways to read the Bible. You can read it as if it is all about you and what you must do to be blessed. Or you can read every part of the Bible as if it’s about Jesus and what he has done for you.

Everything in our Christian faith centers on the resurrected, reigning Jesus. May our hearts burn with our love for him, the living Word.

PRAYER
Living Jesus, meet us today wherever we are. May you find us receptive to your Word and your voice. Help us to respond in faith and obedience. Amen.

2026.09.07 靈裏的迴響共鳴

今日讀經: 路加福音 24:13-35

「他們彼此說：『……我們的心豈不是火熱的麼？』」 - 路 24:32

談到「共鳴」，我們常常可以在人與人的接觸中感受到。當有人所說的話深深觸動我們時，我們或許會說：「是的，我也有共鳴。」又或者說：「我也有同樣的感受，我完全認同你的看法。」

在屬靈的經歷中，我們同樣可以感受到這種共鳴。今天的故事記載兩個門徒走在前往以馬忤斯的路上，一個陌生人加入他們，與他們同行，並展開了一段深入而有意義的交談，談到耶穌、祂的受死，以及《聖經》對神所應許的彌賽亞的教導。

直到這位陌生人與他們擘餅，然後突然不見了，兩個門徒才恍然大悟，原來一直與他們同行交談的就是耶穌！他們之前並不知道耶穌已經從死裡復活。留意他們彼此所說的話：「在路上，他和我們說話，給我們講解《聖經》的時候，我們的心豈不是火熱的麼？」這「火熱的心」，正有力地描述了一種屬靈共鳴的經歷。

當我們真實而深刻地遇見耶穌時，或許會感受到內心正在發生變化，因為我們正面對著改變生命的真理。

未來幾天，讓我們更深入思想這種屬靈共鳴的經歷。願我們像那兩個門徒一樣，在耶穌進入我們生命時，親自遇見這位永活的主。

耶穌啊，願我們的心因你在生命中的工作而火熱。今天，願你的話語和聖靈使我們的生命重新得力，叫我們更像你。阿們。

Today Scripture: Luke 24:13-35

HEARTS BURNING WITHIN US

They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us . . . ?” —Luke 24:32

One of the ways we can speak of “resonance” is in terms of human connection. When a person says something that connects with us deeply, we might say, “Yes, that resonates with me,” or maybe, “I feel the same way. I’m totally in sync with you on that.”

We can find resonance in spiritual experiences as well. This happens in our story for today, about two disciples on the road to Emmaus. As they walk along, a stranger joins them and engages with them in a long and meaningful conversation about Jesus, his death, and what the Scriptures taught about the promised Messiah.

Yet only after the stranger breaks bread with them and then disappears do the disciples realize that they were walking and talking with Jesus. They didn’t realize he had risen from the dead! Notice what they say to each other: “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” That description of burning hearts is a powerful description of resonance.

When we encounter Jesus in a true and meaningful way, we may sense that something is shifting within us. We are in the presence of life-changing truth.

Over the next few days, let’s explore more about this resonating experience. And, like those disciples, may we encounter the living Jesus as he breaks into our lives.

PRAYER
Jesus, may our hearts burn within us in response to your work in our lives. May your Word and Spirit enliven us today and make us more like you. Amen.

2026.09.05 極度渴望敬拜神

今日讀經: 詩篇42:1-5

「我的心渴想神，就是永生神。我幾時得朝見神呢？」 - 詩 42:2

基督徒作家魯益師是一位深思熟慮的思想家。有一天，有人問他，世界上哪一種宗教能帶給人最大的快樂。他沉思片刻後回答：「只要它還有效，自我崇拜的宗教可以做到。」他的意思是，當我們專注於自己的需要和慾望時，確實可能在短時間內找到快樂——但這快樂轉瞬即逝，不能持久。

長遠來說，我們會發現，自我崇拜永遠不能使我們滿足。我們渴望更多享樂、更舒適的生活、更多物質享受等等，最終只會把我們帶進無止境而徒勞的追求。更令人擔憂的是，當我們只向內看，把注意力集中在自己身上時，便會與周圍那些重要的聲音隔絕，尤其聽不到神的聲音。

我們當中許多人身處的文化，都以自我為中心。周圍的人都在追尋快樂，追逐個人的夢想和慾望，卻離開了神邀請我們單單在祂裡面尋找生命的呼召——唯有這生命能帶來真正的豐盛。我們實在活在一個乾渴的世界。

在這充滿挑戰的環境中，我們從《詩篇》42篇聽見主的邀請，呼喚我們在敬拜中來到祂面前。願我們像詩人一樣，因著心靈的渴慕來到永活的神面前；唯有祂能滿足我們生命最深的需要。

Today Scripture: Psalm 42:1-5

DESPERATE FOR WORSHIP

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? —Psalm 42:2

The Christian writer C. S. Lewis was a careful thinker. One day he was asked which of the world’s religions gave people the greatest happiness. He thought for a moment and answered, “While it lasts, the religion of worshiping oneself” would do that. He was pointing out that when we focus on our own needs and wants, it is indeed possible to find happiness in the short term—“while it lasts,” but not for long.

In the long term we discover that worship of self can never satisfy. Our appetite for more pleasure, more comfort, more possessions, and so on will lead us on an endlessly futile quest. Most troubling is that when we focus inward and only on ourselves, that cuts us off from the important voices around us, particularly God's voice.

Many of us live in cultural settings where the focus on self has become the norm. All around us, people search for happiness as they follow personal dreams and pursue personal desires apart from God’s invitation to find life in him alone—life that brings true flourishing. We live in a thirsty world.

In this challenging environment, we hear the Lord’s invitation in Psalm 42 to meet with him in worship. May our thirst lead us, like the psalmist, to the living God, who alone can meet our deepest needs.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, many people around the world will seek you in worship today. Quench the thirst of your people, we pray, and move us to sing your praises and listen to your Word. Amen.

2026.09.04 我們以讚美之聲來回應

今日讀經: 以賽亞書 54:1-8

「你這不懷孕不生養的……要發聲歌唱， 揚聲歡呼……」 - 賽 54:1

我在一個崇拜氣氛比較傳統的教會中長大（現在我仍然是在類似傳統的環境中事奉）。我記得有一次，教會邀請附近一間堂會的牧師來講道。他來自一個較熱情表達的教會傳統，在他講道時，會眾常常會以「阿們！」和「主啊，是的！」來回應。崇拜開始前，我對他說：「你講道時，如果會眾變得非常安靜，你就知道他們正在專心聆聽了。」他笑著說，從來沒有聽過這種說法！

一般的聖經釋經書往往比較學術，讀起來也較為平實；然而，我手頭有一本卻是例外。作者以十分熱切的筆觸解釋《以賽亞書》54-55章，並特別強調54章1節。在這節經文中，神呼召祂的百姓因知道自己已蒙拯救而歡喜歌唱：「要發聲歌唱，揚聲歡呼。」這位作者更生動地把它意譯為：「讓歡樂的歌聲從你心裡爆發出來！」

Today Scripture: Isaiah 54:1-8

OUR VOICES RESONATE WITH PRAISE

“Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy. . . .” —Isaiah 54:1

I grew up (and still serve) in a Christian tradition that tends to be reserved in worship. I remember inviting a pastor from a neighboring church to speak in our congregation. He came from a more expressive background, in which people often said “Amen!” and “Yes, Lord,” to statements he made while he was preaching. Before the worship service I said to him, “When you’re preaching, and the congregation gets really quiet, that’s when you know they are really listening.” He laughed and said he had never heard that before!

Bible commentaries are often fairly dry, yet I own one in which the author writes about Isaiah 54-55 with lots of enthusiasm. The writer highlights Isaiah 54:1, where God calls his people to sing with the joy of knowing they have been saved: “Burst into song, shout for joy.” The commentator rephrases that text vividly with these words: “Let joyful songs explode out of you!”

In some traditions, our sense of reverence and decorum can make us feel uncomfortable with statements like that. We can become shy about expressing our love for God with great enthusiasm. Yet throughout Isaiah we see that creation itself is not restrained in praising its Maker. Creation resounds with praise. The mountains sing, the trees clap their hands, and the heavens declare God’s glory. Because of Jesus, we are a forgiven, restored people, and that moves us to joyful praise!

PRAYER
Jesus, forgive us if we have been unenthusiastic in worship. Teach us to express heartfelt gratitude for all that you have done for us. Amen.

2026.09.03 世界與耶穌的話互相回應

今日讀經: 約翰福音 1:1-14

「我口所出的話……決不徒然返回，卻要成就我所喜悅的，在我發他去成就的事上必然亨通。」 - 賽 55:11

《約翰福音》以一個令人震撼的宣告開始：道——就是神的兒子耶穌——已進入我們的世界。正如第14節以美麗的言詞宣告，這道「住在我們中間」。如果世上有一刻值得我們以喜樂和歌聲來回應，那必定是神的兒子成為肉身、進入人類歷史的時候。難怪當時天上充滿天使天軍頌讚的聲音：「聽啊！天使高聲唱：榮耀歸於新生王！」（參《路加福音》2:13-14）

《約翰福音》1章1-14節讓我們看到《以賽亞書》55章11節的預言得以應驗——這道發出後並沒有徒然返回。主耶穌按照父神的旨意完成了祂的使命；祂擔當我們犯罪和悖逆所欠的債，藉著在十字架上受死，為我們付上沉重的代價。

Today Scripture: John 1:1-14

THE WORLD RESONATES WITH JESUS!

“My word . . . will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” —Isaiah 55:11

The gospel account of John opens with an astonishing declaration: the Word, who is Jesus, the Son of God, has broken into our world. As verse 14 beautifully proclaims, the Word “made his dwelling among us.” If ever there was a moment when the earth could resound with joy and song, it was when the Son of God took on flesh and entered our human story. No wonder the skies were filled with the sound of a heavenly choir: “Hark! The herald angels sing, ‘Glory to the newborn King!’” (see Luke 2:13-14).

John 1:1-14 reveals the fulfillment of Isaiah 55:11—the Word went out and did not return empty. Jesus accomplished his mission as the Father had intended. He took on the debt of our sin and rebellion in this world and paid its terrible price through his death on the cross.

He was buried in a tomb, and then he rose from the grave as the Lord of life and salvation. Later he also returned in victory by ascending to his rightful place in heaven. Isaiah had prophesied truly about the Word of God, Jesus, who achieved all that God had sent him to do.

Across the centuries, the power of Christ’s work has echoed to every corner of the earth. Salvation is here. Forgiveness is possible. There is a God who loves you, and in Christ you have an eternal future.

PRAYER
Jesus, thank you for bringing salvation and new life into our broken lives and our broken world. May your good news echo everywhere. We surrender our hearts to you again today. Amen.

2026.09.02 受造物以頌讚回應

今日讀經: 以賽亞書 55:6-13

「大山小山必在你們面前發聲歌唱；田野的樹木也都拍掌。」 - 賽 55:12

《以賽亞書》55章展現了神與祂所創造的世界之間深厚而喜樂的關係，整章洋溢著造物主與受造物之間美好的聯繫。以賽亞所描述的正是共鳴——神的聲音與世界的聲音彼此和應，和諧地迴盪。

以賽亞指出，大地的生命循環是何等奇妙：有播種和收割的季節，也有雨雪降下來滋潤土地。我們或許不能立即看到一場雨所帶來的果效，然而泥土裡的種子得到水分滋潤，便開始發芽；嫩芽漸漸長成莊稼，為我們提供食糧。那靜悄悄的開始，最終帶來豐盛的收穫。

對神的子民來說，這個景象帶著深厚的意義。他們明白，縱使有河流或泉水，如果神不賜下雨雪，他們仍無法生存。在旱災期間，有些人轉去敬拜其他國家的神明，以為那些神明或許能降雨滋潤農作物，然而這些想法帶來的只有虛假的盼望。神藉著以賽亞呼喚百姓歸回，信靠並歡喜敬拜那位真正掌管世界和其中一切的獨一真神。

Today Scripture: Isaiah 55:6-13

CREATION RESONATES WITH PRAISE

“The mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” —Isaiah 55:12

Isaiah 55 captures the deep, joyful relationship between God and the world he has made. This chapter overflows with delight in the connection between Creator and creation. What Isaiah describes is resonance— the voice of God and the voice of the world echoing back and forth in harmony.

Isaiah points to the remarkable life cycle of the earth: the seasons for planting and harvesting, and the gifts of rain and snow that water the ground. We may not see the immediate effects of a rainfall; seeds planted in the soil respond to the moisture and begin to sprout. Those sprouts grow into crops, and the crops provide food. What begins quietly ends in abundance.

This imagery carried deep meaning for God’s people. Even if they had a river or a spring for water, they knew they could not survive without the gift of rain or snow. In periods of drought, some of the people turned to worship the gods of other nations, as if maybe those gods could bring rain for their crops. But those ideas yielded only false hope. Through Isaiah, God called the people back to trust and celebrate the only One who truly rules the world and everything in it.

Take some time today to reflect on the beauty of creation and hear the invitation to seek and trust in the one, true, faithful God, who provides for all our needs. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Lord, we honor you as the King of creation. Help us to see that you always provide for us, and may we deepen our trust in you alone. In Jesus, Amen.

2026.09.01 迴響神大能的作為

今日讀經: 詩篇 96

「在列邦中述說他的榮耀，在萬民中述說他的奇事。」 - 詩 96:3

你體驗過真正的回聲嗎？或許你曾對著一個空曠的地方大聲呼喊：「哈囉！」接著便聽到自己的聲音傳回來：「哈囉！哈囉！哈囉！」記得大約7歲時，我曾對著一個被霧籠罩的湖大聲呼叫，接著聽到自己的聲音飄蕩回來，令我驚歎不已。

這個月，讓我們來探討一件與回聲相似的事情。本月靈修的主題是「對天地之主的迴響與共鳴」。「共鳴」是我十分喜愛的觀念，也與我的事奉息息相關。我所事奉的機構名叫「迴響普世宣教機構」（Resonate Global Mission），我們的事工著重活出和分享耶穌的好消息，好叫這福音產生迴響，就像不斷擴大和增強的聲音，向四方傳揚出去。

共鳴就像回聲，卻比回聲更深、更有力量。當我們思想屬靈生命中的共鳴時，便會驚歎神藉著祂的話語、祂的靈和祂所創造的世界向我們說話——祂的聲音在我們生命中，也在我們周圍不斷迴盪。

無論生活帶來多大的衝擊，神始終與我們同在！神向我們傳講祂的好消息，並與我們分享祂的愛！願我們也以喜樂和頌讚的聲音回應祂，述說神為我們所作的一切美事！

Today Scripture: Psalm 96

ECHOING THE POWERFUL WORKS OF GOD

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. —Psalm 96:3

Have you ever experienced a genuine echo? Maybe you shouted “Hello!” into a wide empty space and then heard your own voice return: “Hello! Hello! Hello!” I remember being about seven years old and calling out across a misty lake—and then, with a sense of wonder, hearing my voice come drifting back to me.

This month let’s explore something that is similar to an echo. Our theme this month is “Echoing the Lord of Heaven and Earth,” and the concept of resonance is close to my heart and my work. The agency I serve is called Resonate Global Mission, and this organization focuses on living out and sharing the good news of Jesus so that it resonates, going out in every direction like an expanding, amplifying sound.

Resonance is like an echo, yet deeper and more powerful. When we think about resonance in our spiritual lives, it can open us to the wonder of God’s voice speaking through his Word, his Spirit, and his world—reverberating within our lives and all around us.

No matter how great the challenges life throws our way, God is here with us! God speaks his good news and shares his love with us! May our voices echo back with joy and praise for all the great things God has done!

PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your marvelous deeds and the way your love resonates around us. What a privilege to echo back our songs of praise! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

九月靈修: 對天地之主的迴響與共鳴
今日，縱然我們如常生活、工作、娛樂，其實人生中仍有不少暗湧：疾病、經濟、天災、人禍、政治衝擊，以及敵對基督教的浪潮。在這不安的日子中，我們更要堅定回到掌管一切的神那裏。
本月靈修的作者帶領我們反思：神的愛如何在生命的狂風巨浪中保護我們，並向忠於祂的子民彰顯奇妙的作為。作者更鼓勵我們對神的大能與大愛發出迴響與共鳴，像不斷增強、擴大的聲音，向四方傳揚，讓更多人聽見、體會，並從中得著生命的力量。

September Devotion: Echoing the Lord of Heaven and Earth
Though life may seem to go on as usual, we face many uncertainties—illness, economic hardship, disasters, political turmoil, and growing hostility toward Christianity. In such times, we are called to return steadfastly to God, who is sovereign over all.
This month’s devotional reflects on how God’s love sustains us through life’s storms and reveals His wonderful works among His faithful people. May His power and love echo through our lives, spreading outward so that others may hear, experience, and find strength in Him.

2026.08.31 信靠順服

今日讀經: 約翰福音 14:15-21

「你們若愛我，就必遵守我的命令。」 - 約翰福音 14:15

當我默想十誡時，一首古老的福音詩歌總是在我腦海中迴響：《信靠順服》。（譯註：英語經典聖詩 Trust and Obey。）這首簡樸的聖詩，唱出了我們為主而活的生命基石：信靠神，並以行動去順服。因著對神的信靠，我們每日轉向祂，仰賴祂的恩手扶持。如此，我們便能在基督裡那永不衰殘的新生命中，得著那直到永遠的屬天喜樂。

十誡向我們顯明並揭示我們的罪—那根深蒂固的敗壞，以及無法按著呼召去愛神與愛鄰舍的軟弱。然而，藉著聖靈對我們內心恩慈的潔淨與更新，使我們踏上了一條順服的新路。在這條新路上，神的誡命成為了我們心存感恩、順服神而活的指引。

TRUST AND OBEY

“If you love me, keep my commands.” —John 14:15

As I’ve been reflecting on the Ten Commandments, an old gospel song keeps running through my mind: “Trust and Obey.” This simple hymn expresses the bedrock faith and action of seeking to live for the Lord. By trusting God and, through his strength, turning to him for support each day, we find joy in the new life we are promised forever in Christ.

The Ten Commandments reveal to us and convict us of our sin, our deeply ingrained failure and inability to love God and our neighbors as we are called to do. But through the gracious cleansing and renewing of our hearts, the Holy Spirit sets us on a new path of obedience. And on this new path, God’s commands become a guide for gratefully living in obedience to God.

Though we continue to struggle with sin in this life, God still calls us daily to trust him and obey him. The Ten Commandments and other helpful summaries of God’s law—Micah 6:8; Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 13; Galatians 5:22-25; Ephesians 2:8-10; and more—are faithful guides along the way.

When we trust and obey the Lord, as the song puts it, we can expect to be “happy in Jesus.” Actually, a clearer description is that we can be joyful through the inner contentment and wonder grounded in God’s amazing grace and love for us in the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Help us, Lord God, to walk in the light of your Word, trusting and obeying you in all things, so that our lives overflow with your joy. Amen.
