Chosen Vessels Ministries Community Outreach (CVMCO) was created for the purpose of serving the community by offering services and resources to help meet basic needs. CVMCO partnered with Central United Community Church (CUCC) May 2015 since both faith-based community organizations had the same mission and purpose were housed in the same location. CUCC was launched July 11, 1983 under the late Pas

tor Joseph A. McAfee and effective February 11, 2011 continued under the leadership of Pastor LaShuna M. In order to consolidate and streamline the efforts, CUCC officially changed its name to CVMCO. CVMCO has a food pantry, counseling services, job referrals, senior assistance, offers community service hours and utility bill assistance.

"The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing" (Psalms 34:10). What are we really seeking after in our lives There is a reward for seeking God. Yet the world portrays something different. The world says seek fame and fortune. The world tells us to seek everything that appeals to our flesh.

Those things we seek may be nice, but will we have peace once the things are received or will our souls are grieved by them? "For what is a man profited , if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26) We may get everything we think we want but without Jesus, it is nothing. When we are seeking with a Kingdom mindset, then we gain everything. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33).

Seeking the things of God has wonderful rewards. Yes there are credit card companies and business that offer rewards, but they are no comparison to what the Lord will reward us with for seeking Him. "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). It takes faith to seek God. It takes faith to obtain the rewards that come from it. Just know the reward of faith is great.

When God blesses, there are no regrets. "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22). Let us be mindful of our seeking process. We cannot afford to leave God out. Always remember God first and the rewards will come.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end" (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11).

The weather lately has not truly been reflecting every season of the year. What is the spiritual weather in our lives? Do we know what season we are in right now? Are we trying to reap when we should be sowing? Is this our season of deliverance, healing, breakthrough, miracles, advancement or something else?

Often we have missed seasons in our lives because it did not appear the way we wanted it and it did not produce what we thought it would. What we believed to be a dry season was actually our season to grow in adverse conditions. Naturally we are in the season of spring, but there are days fall and winter have appeared. Even spiritually at times, we may be in the height of our spring and summer, but a bit of winter comes. Do not get upset or sidetracked by the occurrence, but learn the lesson.

Will we still have the same worship and praise during our fall and winter seasons? Think about it, when it is still 45 degrees in the summer, there are complaints about it. When it is 20 below in the winter, 45 degrees now feels wonderful. The rise and fall in temperatures around us will prove if will we yet remain faithful to the things of God.

Trials will come. Heartache will come. Gains and losses will come. All these things have their season in our lives. We must not let depression and doubt grip us when there is a seasonal change. Let us instead embrace what each season brings, weather the storm and keep pressing on in the name of the Lord.

Enjoy this Faith-Filled Friday.
