Our Treasurer Priyanshi Zalavadiya will be leaving for Dental School this year see what she has to say below:
“ An important thing I’ve learned is to not put a limit on myself and try new things for the sake of figuring out who you are. Which is one of the reasons that led me to apply to become a board member for HSC :) HSC has educated me so much about Hinduism which has added on to my beliefs. It also taught me the reasons behind certain holidays and why we do what we do. Most importantly, it has allowed me to connect with more people that share similar beliefs and interact with others through the fun events we’ve hosted over the years. As for my future plans, I will be continuing my education this upcoming fall at MWU-IL as a dental student for the next 4 years! I hope to open my own clinic in the future and eventually be able to travel overseas to help others in need. “

Our Vice-President Janki Dave who will be graduating has some words to share on her experience with HSC as well as her future plans.
1: be yourself, unapologetically. It’s okay to make mistakes, get rejected, and fail. But learning something from every experience is super important.
2: HSC gave me a family, who I had the honor of constantly teaching new things! We shared our experiences with faith and culture and it brought us all the more together!
3: I’m graduating this spring with my Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and will be looking to apply to master’s programs in the upcoming year! I would really love for an opportunity to serve in a clinic in India, I dream of opening and running a nonprofit senior care center/program there one day

Today marks Durga Ashtami the 8th day of Chaitra Navratri. We celebrate the defeat of the demon king Mahishasur by Goddess Durga. This symbolic victory comes at a time when we are all facing uncertainty by forces that we cannot control. In this time, let’s do what we can to help each other and remain courageous in spite of a daunting situation. Navratri is a Sanskrit word, which means nine divine nights. This means nine nights of celebration and during this period nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. Since this Navratri falls in the month of Chaitra, it is known as Chaitra Navratri. Navratri symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
