There is a War on Supernatural Christianity
You need to know this…👇👇👇
There is an undeniable tension rising in this hour, and it is not merely against Christianity in general, but against a specific expression of it, the kind that actually believes God still moves, still heals, still delivers, and still demonstrates His power through His people. A passive, cultural, quiet faith is often tolerated, but the moment believers begin to walk in the authority of the Holy Spirit, operating in the gifts, expecting miracles, casting out demons, and boldly declaring truth, opposition intensifies. This should not surprise anyone who knows the Word, because the Bible has already warned that there would be resistance to the true power of God.
Scripture says in 2 Timothy 3:5 that there would be those “having a form of godliness but denying its power.” This is not just talking about the world, it is describing a spirit that even tries to creep into religious environments, one that is comfortable with appearance but uncomfortable with demonstration. Supernatural Christianity threatens that system because it cannot be controlled, managed, or explained away. When God begins to move in power, it exposes dead religion and awakens hunger in people who realize there must be more.
The early church did not just preach sermons, they demonstrated the Kingdom. Mark 16:17–18 says, “And these signs will follow those who believe…” Not a select few, but those who believe. Healing, deliverance, authority over demonic power, these were not rare exceptions, they were expected expressions of a Spirit-filled life. Acts 1:8 declares, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” That word “power” is not symbolic, it is real, tangible, and transformative. And that is exactly why it is targeted.
The enemy is not intimidated by powerless religion. He is not threatened by routine, by tradition without fire, or by belief that never steps into action. But he is threatened by believers who know their authority, who understand Luke 10:19, that they have power over all the power of the enemy, and who actually walk in it. Supernatural Christianity disrupts darkness. It breaks chains. It exposes lies. It sets captives free. And when that begins to happen, resistance increases.
There is also a cultural resistance. A world that is increasingly driven by logic, control, and human reasoning often rejects anything that cannot be easily explained. Yet 1 Corinthians 2:4–5 says, “My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.” The gospel was never meant to be reduced to intellectual agreement alone. It is meant to be experienced. And when believers begin to move in that realm, it confronts a system that prefers control over surrender.
Another reason supernatural believers are targeted is because they expose spiritual realities. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” When someone begins to operate in discernment, in deliverance, in spiritual authority, they are no longer ignoring the unseen realm, they are confronting it. And the kingdom of darkness does not remain passive when it is being challenged.
The Bible also makes it clear that in the last days there will be both a rise in deception and a rise in true power. Jesus warned in Matthew 24:24 that false signs and wonders would attempt to deceive, which means the real must also be present. The answer to counterfeit is not to reject the supernatural, it is to discern and walk in the authentic. But many, out of fear of deception, have shut down entirely, and in doing so have distanced themselves from the very power God intended them to walk in.
There is a reason the gifts of the Spirit are often questioned, mocked, or dismissed. 1 Corinthians 12 lays out these gifts clearly, wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation. These are not historical relics, they are tools for the Body of Christ. They build up the church, edify believers, and reveal the presence of God. When these are active, people encounter God, not just information about Him.
This is why there is such a concentrated effort to silence, discredit, or marginalize those who operate in these areas. Because power shifts atmospheres. Power breaks strongholds. Power reveals that Jesus is not just a historical figure, but a living Savior who still moves today. And that reality cannot coexist comfortably with systems that depend on control, skepticism, or spiritual passivity.
But none of this should create fear. If anything, it should bring clarity. The Bible has already prepared believers for this moment. 1 Corinthians 4:20 says, “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” This is the standard. This is the model. And it has not changed.
The response is not to shrink back, but to press in. To seek God more deeply. To pursue the fullness of what He has made available. To walk in truth, but also in power. To be grounded in the Word, but filled with the Spirit. To refuse both extremes, dead religion on one side and unbiblical excess on the other, and instead walk in the authentic, Spirit-led life that Scripture describes.
There is a war on supernatural Christianity, but it is not a sign of defeat. It is a confirmation that something real is happening. Darkness does not fight what is ineffective. It resists what carries authority.
And in this hour, God is raising up believers who will not just talk about Him, but who will demonstrate Him. Amen.
