🌍 Labor Day Gratitude | Celebrating 200 Years of Mission ✨

This Labor Day, we give thanks for the countless Sisters who, throughout 200 years, have given their lives, gifts, energy, and hearts to bringing the Cenacle mission to life.

Across generations, countries, cultures, and communities, their faithful labor has helped awaken and deepen faith and make Jesus more deeply known and loved.

We are grateful, too, for the many members of our Cenacle Family — Consecrated Laywomen, Auxiliaries, Associates, and lay friends — who continue to carry this mission into the world today.

🙏 May the Lord bless the work of all who serve with generous hearts. And may the labor of those who have gone before us continue to bear fruit through each of us as we carry the Cenacle mission forward.

Thank you to all whose hands, hearts, prayer, and witness have helped bring the Cenacle story to life for 200 years.

✨ Before August comes to an end, we invite you to explore this month’s Bicentennial theme from Treasures from the Archives: Language.

For the Cenacle, language has always been more than words. As an international community, Sisters have crossed borders and cultures, learning new languages and finding creative ways to communicate the Gospel and accompany others on their spiritual journey.

From retreats preached in Spanish, Russian, and Malagasy to ministry with immigrant communities and moments when communication extended beyond words, these stories reveal the many ways language has built bridges of understanding, connection, and faith.

With sadness, we share the passing of Sr. Purificacion (Pia, Puring) Bautista, rc, who died on July 23, 2026, just two days after celebrating her 89th birthday.

Sr. Pia entered the Congregation of Our Lady of the Cenacle at Ronkonkoma, New York, on August 11, 1958, and faithfully lived her Cenacle vocation for nearly 68 years.

We give thanks for Sr. Pia's long life of prayer, service, and loving presence, and for the many lives she touched throughout her years in the Cenacle.

Please join the Cenacle Sisters in praying for Sr. Pia, for her family and friends, and for all who mourn her passing.

May she rest in the peace and love of God.
