✨ Happy Feast of Our Lady of the Cenacle! ✨

As we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Cenacle on May 23 during this special Bicentennial Year, the Sisters of the Cenacle send you our gratitude, prayers, and best wishes. 💙

On this feast, we remember Mary gathered in prayer with the disciples — pondering, listening, and trusting in the goodness and movement of the Spirit. In that same spirit, we invite you to pause amidst the busyness of life and notice, as Mother Thérèse Couderc did, the grace and goodness that still surrounds us each day.

You are warmly invited to join us virtually for the Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of the Cenacle, celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, May 23, at 4:00 PM Rome time (9:00 AM Central / 10:00 AM Eastern).

We are especially grateful that the Mass will be celebrated by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, a longtime friend of the Cenacle Sisters around the world — what a beautiful gift for our feast day!

📍 Celebrated at San Pio X Parish in Rome, within walking distance of the Cenacle

Dear Cenacle Friends,

The Mass will take place on Saturday, May 23 at 4:00 PM Rome time
(9:00 AM Central | 10:00 AM Eastern)

We are especially honored that the Mass will be celebrated by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who has long shared a close friendship with the Cenacle Sisters around the world but especially in the Philippines. His presence with us for this feast day is truly a gift.

The liturgy will take place at San Pio X Parish, just a short walk from the Cenacle in Rome, and will be streamed live on the parish YouTube channel. The recording will also remain available afterward for those unable to join live.

We hope you will prayerfully celebrate with us!

Icons of Cenacle Spirituality: Saint John Francis Regis, SJ

On June 16, we celebrate the memory of Saint John Francis Regis, a 17th-century French Jesuit known for his zealous missionary efforts and his care for the poor and marginalized.

Pause your day and enter into prayer with the story of St. John Francis Regis—a witness of patience, charity, and deep faith in difficult times.

Led by Sr. Susan Arcaro, r.c., this short, pre-recorded reflection invites you into stillness and inspiration—whenever it fits your schedule.

💜Grateful for a beautiful Day of Prayer with the Associates and Auxiliaries of South Florida this April at St. Mark’s Church.

Thank you to Sister Mary Peters, r.c., for facilitating the day and sharing her reflection, “Your Life Full of Grace.” Together, participants shared prayer, reflection, renewal, remembrance, Mass, and fellowship.

It was a joy to spend the day together and celebrate the spirit of the Cenacle family.😇

Dear Friends,

Beginning May 13, Cenacle Sisters from around the world will gather for a special Congregational Retreat during this bicentennial year marking 200 years of the Cenacle community and mission. Some members from each Province or Region will gather in-person in Rome, including Sisters from our North American Province. But all Sisters throughout the Congregation will participate — if not in-person then remotely and virtually.

As the Sisters enter this sacred time of prayer, reflection, discernment, and renewal, we invite you to keep them in your prayers in a special way. In the spirit of the Cenacle — gathered together in prayer with openness to the movement of the Holy Spirit — may this retreat be a time of grace, wisdom, deep listening, and renewed hope for the future.

Please also know that you, your loved ones, and all who share in the prayer and ministry of the Cenacle will be remembered in the hearts and prayers of the Sisters throughout these retreat days. We are deeply grateful for your friendship, support, and spiritual companionship.

The retreat encompasses the Feast of Our Lady of the Cenacle, celebrated by the Universal Church on May 23 this year; our Sisters return home to the US on June 6th.

With gratitude and confidence in the Spirit,

Your Cenacle Sisters
of the North American Province

Last week, The Cenacle Sisters of North America participated in "Transforming Grace" with our own Auxiliary, Dr. Deborah Lee Prescott of the Justice Team and staff member Mark Piper, Director for Ministry & Mission Advancement. They joined 260 leaders, justice promoters, and communicators from 107 institutes of US women religious in St. Louis, MO for Transforming Grace: Next Steps on the Journey, hosted by the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR).

On behalf of the Cenacle Sisters NAP, they were grateful for this opportunity — listening, learning, and discerning together on intentional dialogue, and finding hope while transforming consciousness. Throughout the week they participated with inspiring voices, including Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, E.J. Dionne Jr., Irshad Manji, Michelle Sardone of CLINIC and David Spicer of the USCCB. Their insights will guide us as we reflect on our mission and consider how we are called to respond with justice, compassion, and hope in our polarized society.

We are especially thankful for the opportunity to gather in-person so that what we experienced in St. Louis become a discernment tool, and grow into positive decisions and next best steps.

✨ On May 10, 1826, the cornerstone of the chapel at Lalouvesc was laid — a small beginning that would grow into a global mission.

From this mountain village in France, the Cenacle journey began in faith, trust, and a spirit of openness to God’s call. Today, the Cenacle is present across five continents, yet Lalouvesc remains our root, our spiritual home, and a cherished place of pilgrimage.

As we celebrate our Bicentennial, we remember with gratitude the courage and vision of those first foundations. 🙏
