👏 Congratulations to our long time member, Viorel Stirbu who at the age of 75 recently climbed to the top of Mount Everest! 🎊🎉
Viorel is now the oldest Romanian to reach the summit of Mount Everest! He successfully scaled the 8,848-meter peak on May 18, 2026, at the remarkable age of 75, a feat that also completed his global Seven Summits challenge.
Viorel Stirbu, a retired Chicago firefighter/engineer has also conquered Mount Manaslu (in west-central Nepal) at the age of 74.

In 2025, the mountain sent them back at 8,000m. We regrouped and returned stronger.
On May 18th, at 8:35 a.m., Wally stood at 8,848m. The plan worked.
