1 Peter 4:10 “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another,” means How do we serve God? Sometimes, we make this question harder than it needs to be. We serve God by serving others in whatever way we are able to do so. Whatever skill, talent, or gift God has given us, He has given us to use for His glory. Whatever people God has placed in our midst are the people with whom we are called to share His grace.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Means Pride goes before the fall, but do we give it much thought? It was pride that kicked Satan from Heaven and brought sin into the world, and pride that drives every selfish decision we make when we seek to be God’s of our own lives. Even as Christians, if we forget that we are acting in God’s power and try to use our own strength, we will be reminded swiftly of our limits and our need to rely on Him.

Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” What does it take to be a peacemaker? It takes a child of God, one who reflects His image and character. For it is only through the unconditional love of God that we can know peace. And when we live in that love and pass it on to others, without judgment and condemnation, we invite others to experience His Love and peace.

Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Perfectly said, God does not desire to be our part-time God. He invites us to let Him into every aspect of our lives. And doing so is the best way to remain on the path He has set before us. If we only seek Him some of the time, we’ll spend the rest of our time wandering off and then trying to find our way back. But if we seek Him at all times, He will show us the way in all situations.

Romans 3: 23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” meaning We know we fall short of the glory of God. We are all sinners and make dark decisions that lead us to sin. God offers salvation to all who repent and renounce their wicked ways. He loves those difficult to love; He is patient with the restless; He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present; thus, making Him perfectly merciful and just. We are thankful to be loved by our loving God; He accepts everyone who chooses to follow Him.

Jonah 4:2 Jonah prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. Which means Jonah describes the beautiful character of our loving God; he feels God is too merciful in His decision to extend salvation to the people on Ninevah. In Jonah's opinion, they were unworthy; it's our unworthiness that makes the mercy of God so precious. None of us deserve salvation, but God loved us so much, He sent His Son as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. We are blessed to be surrounded by His selfless love.
