OFFICIAL STATEMENT

It is with profound sadness that Pastors United for Change mourns the passing of Bishop Larry A. Brookins, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, a faithful servant of God, visionary leader, and devoted shepherd of His people.

Bishop Brookins’ unwavering commitment to the Gospel, his love for the Church, and his investment in the lives of pastors and congregations have left an enduring legacy that will continue to impact generations to come.

We extend our heartfelt prayers and sincere condolences to the Brookins family, his wife Dr. S. Brookins, his family, his church family, fellow clergy, and all whose lives were touched by his ministry. May God’s peace and comfort sustain you during this difficult season.

“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
Matthew 25:23

On behalf of the Executive Board and member churches of Pastors United for Change, we honor Bishop Larry A. Brookins’ remarkable life, faithful ministry, and lasting Kingdom legacy.

May he rest in the eternal presence of our Lord.

June is Men’s Health Month and men’s mental and emotional health must be a part of the conversation. Too often, men are taught to carry grief in silence, to stay strong, even when their hearts are heavy.
Healing is not weakness. Talking is not weakness. Reaching for support is strength.

Join Calahan Funeral Home & Cremations for Beyond the Silence: Men’s Grief and Healing, a virtual grief support session created specifically for men to share, listen, and begin healing in a safe and supportive space.

Thursday, June 25, 2026
6:00–7:30 PM CST
Virtual on Zoom

This Men’s Health Month, let’s remind the men we love that their grief matters, their mental health matters, and they do not have to walk through loss alone.
