The Power of Standing with God’s Servant”
Exodus 17:8–13
When Israel faced battle against Amalek, something unusual happened. Victory was not determined only by swords in the valley—but by lifted hands on the mountain.
As long as Moses lifted his hands, Israel prevailed. When his hands dropped, the enemy gained ground.
But Moses got tired.
And this is where destiny helpers appeared—Aaron and Hur.
They didn’t criticize Moses.
They didn’t compete with Moses.
They didn’t abandon Moses in weakness.
They lifted his hands.
1. God’s Work Requires Partnership, Not Isolation
Moses was called, anointed, and chosen—but he still needed support.
No matter how anointed a servant of God is, they are still human.
* They get weary
* They face battles
* They carry burdens others don’t see
God never designed kingdom work to be a one-man assignment.
Aaron and Hur teach us that:
Supporting God’s servant is part of fulfilling your own calling.
2. Submission Is Strength, Not Weakness
In today’s world, people resist submission. But in the Kingdom, submission is alignment.
Aaron and Hur submitted to Moses’ leadership—not because he was perfect, but because he was appointed.
Submission means:
* Honoring God’s order
* Standing in your place
* Protecting the vision God has given
When you stand with God’s servant, you are not bowing to a man—you are aligning with God’s agenda.
3. Discern When to Lift, Not When to Judge
Aaron and Hur saw Moses’ weakness—and responded with support, not criticism.
Many today:
* Talk when they should pray
* Judge when they should help
* Withdraw when they should stand
But kingdom-minded people ask:
“How can I strengthen what God is doing?”
They placed a stone under Moses and held up his hands—one on each side.
That means:
* Practical support
* Spiritual support
* Consistent support
4. Your Support Sustains Victory
The battle was won because Moses’ hands stayed lifted.
This means:
* Your encouragement matters
* Your prayers matter
* Your loyalty matters
Some victories in your church, ministry, or family will not happen unless you take your place as an Aaron or Hur.
5. Stay Until the Battle Is Won
The Bible says they held his hands until sunset.
Not for a moment. Not when it was convenient.
Until victory came.
True submission is not seasonal.
True loyalty is not emotional.
True support is not conditional.
Conclusion
God is still raising:
* Moses (leaders with vision)
* Joshua (fighters in the valley)
* And Aaron & Hur (destiny supporters)
The question is:
Who are you in this story?
If you are called to stand, then stand well.
Lift hands.
Strengthen vision.
Guard the mission.
Because when you hold up the hands of God’s servant—
you become a part of the victory God brings.
