I was listening to this song and I began to come Into the Discipline of Stillness!
Life can feel rushed, loud, and heavy with pressure. But in the middle of noise, the Bible invites us into a different posture: stillness before God. Stillness is the discipline of quieting your inner life so you can hear God clearly, trust His character, and respond in faith.
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Stillness is not about pretending you’re calm. It’s about choosing God’s presence over frantic control—quieting yourself so you can truly know Him.
What Stillness Produces
When you practice stillness, you train your spirit to respond the way faith responds:
* Peace grows as your heart stops feeding anxiety.
* Confidence strengthens as God’s character replaces fear.
* Clarity increases because distractions lose their grip.
* Obedience becomes steadier because you act from trust, not pressure.
Stillness is a spiritual practice that doesn’t just change your mood, it changes your direction.
