National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini

National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini The National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini was built to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Mother Cabrini, America's first citizen saint.

Originally built as the chapel inside Columbus Hospital, which Mother Cabrini founded in 1904, it now stands by itself as beacon to the faithful and symbol of Mother Cabrini's worldwide mission.

As Catholics, we recognize that laying down one's life for one's friends is the highest form of love, echoing the words of Jesus in the Gospel of John (15:13). The supreme sacrifice of our fallen military heroes mirrors the selfless, redemptive love of Christ on the Cross. Their courage inspires us to live with deep charity and virtue.

Spirit of the living God, who rushed like wind and burned like fire, awaken my heart today. Just as you empowered your people at Pentecost, breathe new life into me. Fill my words with truth and kindness. Stir my spirit to speak boldly of your goodness. When I am weary, be my strength. When I am afraid, be my courage. Let your presence dwell in me, shaping how I move through the world. And may my life bear witness to the beautiful, boundary-breaking work you are still doing. Amen.

Good and Gentle God,
We pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the women of theory who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new life. You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings.

Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly.

Give them the faithful support of husband, family and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children.

Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood.

Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most.

In God we pray!

A huge thank you to Nick Rademacher, Ph.D., Michelle Sherman, LSW and Sr Bernadette Anello, MSC for spending time yesterday with our National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini team. Your leadership regarding Mission Integration, focusing on the Sacred Heart of Jesus provided our team the chance to listen and to look at our horizons. We learned so much from each of you and we are looking forward to future time together!

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of teachers and their commitment to nurturing the next generation.

We ask for a special blessing upon them: grant them an abundance of Your wisdom and patience as they guide their students each day. Equip them with strength when they feel weary, and fill their classrooms with laughter, creativity, and love.

Protect them and their families, and remind them of the lasting impact they have on the world, one student at a time. In moments of exhaustion, be their rest; in moments of frustration, be their peace.

Bless the work of their hands and encourage them in their calling.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
