For more than 20 years, New Life Centers has partnered with communities on Chicago’s Southwest and West sides to respond to urgent needs with dignity and compassion. Guided by faith and a commitment to equity, New Life Centers adapts and innovates to meet each new challenge.

Mentoring and youth guidance are central to New Life’s approach. Over 40% of staff are alumni of its youth programs, and as the Little Village lead for SC2 (a city-wide initiative to scale community violence interventions in high-risk neighborhoods), it has contributed to a 65% reduction in neighborhood shootings and homicides.

Across Chicago, hundreds of nonprofit organizations – and the people who power them – show up every day with unwavering dedication to strengthen our communities, rise to meet challenges, and support neighbors in need.

In May, we kicked off another Little League season in La Villita. Now, as the season comes to a close, we're incredibly proud of the passion and dedication these young athletes have shown every step of the way. ⚾💚

Throughout the season, many of these children developed a genuine love for the game, growing in skill and confidence each time they stepped onto the field. Their enthusiasm, hard work, and sportsmanship were inspiring to watch and a reminder that the future of baseball in Chicago is bright. 👏🏟️

Most importantly, thank you to the families who made this season possible. Thank you for encouraging your children, cheering them on from the sidelines, and being part of this journey with us. Your support made all the difference. 🌟🥇

En mayo dimos inicio a una nueva temporada de Little League en La Villita. Hoy, al llegar a su cierre, nos sentimos orgullosos de la pasión y dedicación que estos jóvenes atletas demostraron durante toda la temporada. ⚾💚

Muchos de ellos desarrollaron una verdadera pasión por el béisbol, creciendo en habilidad y confianza cada vez que jugaban en el campo. Su entusiasmo y esfuerzo nos recuerdan que el futuro del béisbol en Chicago es prometedor con estos chicos. 👏🏟️

The World Cup has soccer fans buzzing, and now that same excitement is alive in La Villita. ⚽ 🏆

Copa La Villita is in full swing, bringing young players from across the community together for a summer of soccer. With 8 boys' teams and 4 girls' teams competing this season, every game is already filled with hustle, big plays, and players giving it their all while families cheer from the sidelines. 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🥇

Join us every Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Little Village Academy and come support the next generation of La Villita soccer players. 🙌 🎉

The La Villita Summer Softball League is back at Piotrowski Park, and the season is already off to a strong start. This week, teams from across the community took the field and kicked off another summer of softball. 🥎🎉

From opening night to the final game, we're looking forward to a season filled with exciting matchups, familiar faces, and moments that bring the community together. 💚👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Join us every Monday from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Piotrowski Park. Bring your kids, invite your neighbors, and come enjoy an evening of softball, family fun, and community.

La Liga de Sóftbol de Verano de La Villita regresa al Parque Piotrowski y la temporada ha comenzado con mucha fuerza. Esta semana, equipos de toda la comunidad saltaron al campo para dar inicio a la liga de sóftbol veraniega. Desde la jornada inaugural hasta el partido final, esperamos una temporada llena de encuentros emocionantes, rostros conocidos y momentos que unen a nuestra hermosa comunidad.

For more than four weeks, six teams competed in Goal Zone, our soccer league in Humboldt Park. Week after week, players brought passion, teamwork, and determination to the field as they battled for a spot in the championship. In the end, Los Peppas and Spain FC earned their place in the final after a memorable season on the field. ⚽🏆

A special thank you to Mr. Edwin Ramírez for his constant support throughout the league and for the time he invests in young people. His presence and encouragement helped make this season possible. 💚🙌

As Goal Zone comes to a close, we celebrate the friendships, memories, and moments that made every game worth playing. 🏅⚽✨

Durante más de cuatro semanas, seis equipos compitieron en Goal Zone, nuestra liga de fútbol en Humboldt Park. Cada semana estuvo llena de esfuerzo, trabajo en equipo y partidos emocionantes en la lucha por un lugar en el campeonato.
