This week, Green ReEntry Weekend Warriors continued building more than hard skills. Through reflection and relational exercises, participants created space for deeper connection — sharing life lessons, exploring what shapes our need for affirmation, and grounding the work in trust, vulnerability, and community. This past weekend young people, residents, faith leaders, and organizers from across the South Side marched together through major streets with power, discipline, and purpose—claiming public space for peace, dignity, and community.

Much love and gratitude to Father Pfleger, and all of the community leaders who stood with our young people and helped make the night a powerful witness for what our neighborhoods can be.

As we move toward the August 1st National March into Marquette Park, moments like this remind us what the fierce urgency of now demands: communities willing to stand together, move together, and organize for a better future.

🎉 Excited to announce that we’ve officially opened our SECOND Women’s Home! We are extremely grateful to be able to provide a secure, welcoming space for women and families in need—an addition to our larger Green ReEntry transitional housing program, which has already provided refuge and opportunity to dozens of returning residents and justice-involved individuals.

Yesterday, hundreds of artists, faith leaders, organizers, and residents gathered at 63rd & Racine to make a clear demand: we will not stand by while our neighbors go hungry.

More than simply an event, the Save Our SNAP Block Party was an expression of joy, collective care, public witness, and community power — grounded in the belief that protecting and feeding the neighbor is a sacred and moral duty.

Deep gratitude to our partners, featured artists and speakers, Organizing Committee team and every community member who showed up and showed out to help bring this vision to life. This is what solidarity looks like.
