For a formal student of Moody, Margaret, prayed a simple prayer that would eventually become her lifelong calling.
Less than a week after arriving in the Middle East for her mission trip, Margaret sensed God's direction for her future.
Standing on a balcony overlooking the city, she remembers praying when she felt the Lord say, "I'm calling you to love until the end of your life or until I call you elsewhere." 🙏
Her journey began with a mission trip to Spain in 2018, where she discovered a passion for serving Muslim communities. Knowing she needed preparation for the calling ahead, she enrolled in Moody's TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program. 🏫
She graduated in 2021 and earned additional TESOL training that allowed her to move overseas with a degree and a passion driven by God. 👩🎓
Today, Margaret teaches English at a local church in a Middle Eastern country where nearly one-third of the population is refugees. 🙏 Through free language classes, she serves students searching for hope, opportunity, and community. With a waiting list of nearly 1,000 people, the need is immense. 🤲
Margaret believes ministry often starts with simple relationships like sharing meals, hosting cookie parties, and listening well. She describes this work as "removing rocks from the field," preparing hearts over time through love, service, and faithfulness. 🫂 💌
When students ask why she cares, her answer is simple:
🗣️ "Jesus hears you and sees you, sees every tear. He cares, so that makes me care."
Currently on medical leave, Margaret continues to pray for the people she loves and hopes to return soon. ❤️🩹
Her story is a powerful reminder that God uses ordinary acts of service to make an eternal impact. Sometimes it takes a simple prayer for God to place you in the right place at the right time. 🙌
