The Midwest Augustinians hold our brother, Pope Leo XIV, close in prayer as he prepares for surgery. We pray that the Lord will bless the physicians and caregivers entrusted with his care, and we pray for his swift and complete recovery. We are grateful for the prayers of so many people around the world who are holding the Holy Father in their hearts.

We would invite all to join us in prayer for Pope Leo:

Loving God, watch over your servant, Leo.
Grant him strength and peace, knowing he is held in your loving care.
Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, and our Holy Father Saint Augustine, restore him to health and sustain him in his ministry of service to your Church.
Amen.

Providence Catholic High School was painted PINK this week in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Students and staff wore pink in support of those fighting breast cancer, survivors, and families whose lives have been touched by the disease.

We are proud to see our Augustinian school communities standing together with those facing illness and reminding them that they do not face it alone.

Students from Villanova College recently traveled from Canada to St. Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, New Jersey, joining students from Augustinian schools across North America for the SAVI conference.

Together, students celebrated Mass, prayed, reflected on Augustinian leadership, and took part in service projects, including preparing sandwiches for people experiencing homelessness and assembling hygiene care packages.

The gathering concluded with a Commissioning Mass, sending students home to bring what they learned back to their own school communities. It is always good to see the bonds among our Augustinian schools extend well beyond the classroom — and across borders!

In preparation for the 112th World Day for Migrants and Refugees, as celebrated by the Catholic Church this weekend on September 27, the Midwest Augustinians are joining with the Immigrant Crosses initiative of the Archdiocese of Chicago Priests for Justice for Immigrants and Sisters and Brothers for Justice for Immigrants.

Yesterday, Fr. Tony Pizzo, O.S.A., joined with this group at a press conference to announce the venues of the pilgrimage of crosses, which includes St Barnabas Parish on November 22nd as well as several other places of worship and education.

From Augustinian Vocations Bishop Daniel Turley and our six Pre-Novices attended the Beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen in St. Louis, MO. Bishop Turley also concelebrated at the ceremony. The event was held at The Dome at America's Center and was presided by Cardinal Tagle, who brought greetings from Pope Leo XIV.
