Jornada de Adoracion y Ayuno por la Esperanza Migrante

Mis respetos se inclinan, como incienso ante el altar,
a la pastoral migratoria de San Óscar Romero,
que ha tejido con fe una vigilia de 24 horas
frente al Santísimo, como lámpara encendida por los que caminan sin descanso.

Ayunan los cuerpos, pero se sacia el alma
en solidaridad con los migrantes, hermanos nuestros, tratados con dureza en tierras que prometieron libertad.

A las tres de la tarde, cuando el sol aún ardía,
comenzamos el Vía Crucis en San José;
no solo el de Jesús, sino el de cada migrante,
que carga su cruz entre fronteras y rechazos.
Pero también, ¡oh misterio!,
el migrante resucita cada día,
en cada paso, en cada abrazo, en cada oración.

Procesamos luego, como discípulos en camino,
hacia la Casa de Retiros "Caminando a Emaús",
donde cada turno de adoración
es custodiado por al menos doce corazones,
como apóstoles velando en Getsemaní.

Me siento orgulloso, sí,
pero más aún, profundamente humilde
ante la generosidad de mis feligreses,
que ofrecen su tiempo, su cuerpo, su fe
como ofrenda viva.

Algunos dormirán allí,
en los cuartos recién bendecidos
de nuestra nueva casa de retiros,
como quien se queda en el sepulcro
esperando la aurora de la resurrección.

As Leo High School approaches its 100th anniversary, this milestone moment is a powerful reminder of our mission: to uplift, inspire, and provide opportunities for young men of Chicago. The Leo Choir embodies the brotherhood, resilience, and excellence that have defined the institution since 1926.
