UN Declares Gaza A Full Blown Famine Zone. The UN body called IPC made the announcement this morning.

The United Nations says it has enough food nearby to feed Gaza for 3 months.

The UN rights chief says the Gaza famine is a ‘direct result’ of the Israeli government.

It is the first time famine has been declared outside of Africa.

The report says that more than half a million Palestinians are facing catastrophic famine conditions, which include starvation, destitution and death.

The agency had warned early that the famine is imminent in Gaza but this is the first time it has officially declared it a famine.

JEAN-MARTIN BAUER, DIRECTOR OF THE WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME'S FOOD SECURITY ANALYSIS, defends the UN declaration that there is famine in Gaza, saying the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification Initiative (IPC) used is the “gold standard for food security analysis worldwide".
