Jesus saves the day —> Luke 23:44-46

“It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”When he had said this, he breathed his last.”

We can only see darkness where the enemy works but GOD also works in darkness

Are you living in the dark? Are you living in a situation that you didn’t ask for?

Darkness is not defeat because Jesus does good work in the dark!

Just because it’s dark doesn't mean the day is over. There is still some day left.

Deliverance doesn’t require light, because deliverance in Jesus is the light. GOD doesn’t need anything to be GOD.

Good beyond what I see —> Psalm 119:68

“You are good, and what you do is good;
teach me your decrees.”

Sometimes we judge the outcome before the process is complete but know GOD is good beyond what we see!

GOD’s goodness is not rooted in what HE does for us; it’s rooted in who HE is.

How can I declare that GOD even though what I’m experiencing is not good?

1. GOD is good by nature; not by negotiation. Goodness is not what HE does, it’s who HE is.

2. GOD’s goodness is not cancelled by hard seasons. It may not always feel good, but it’s filled with purpose.

3. GOD’s goodness often looks like discipline before delight. Disappointment redirects us and pain humbles us. GOD’s corrected hand is to protect us. GOD is tightening us to achieve our full potential.

4. Mature faith praises GOD without conditions. GOD is good even before HE fixes anything.

It’s not what I expected —> Matthew 11:2-6

“Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”

Sometimes the life you expect to have does not square up with the life that you actually have. What do you do?

1. It is only human to express your doubts.

When you place your expectations in your circumstances, you set yourself up to be disappointed in life!

What do you do when your right now meets GOD’s not now?

2. Know that your faith in Christ is not in vain. There are better days coming!

3. Remain faithful no matter what happens to you. Don’t give up!

John 20:1-18 —> relaxing in the resurrection (v18 below)

“Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.”

Resurrection is having faith in GOD to let life play out.

Redirection reminds us to relax because GOD’s plan and power unfolds in phases. We must rely on GOD’s plan so we are not worried by our own panic.

Things will work for our good even when it doesn’t look good or feel good. Wait for GOD’s plan to unfold.

We unravel because we become stressed by what we don’t see and life doesn’t give you what you think you deserve. When you are in the verge of unraveling, that’s when GOD’s peace and power happen in your life.

All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.

1. Relax in the mystery
2. Relax in your humanity
3. Relax until you get clarity
GOD transforms a hard place to a holy place
GOD reveals the difference in being buried vs being planted. You’re not buried, you’re planted!
4. Relax because GOD overcomes Calvary

When GOD is silent —> Malachi 3:1 & Matthew 3:3

Pause is anticipation of what’s it come. Silence is apart of the journey in our walk with GOD.

Many of us don’t know what to do when we experience the silence of GOD

1. Silence will expose your posture.
2. Silence reveals the remnant.
4. Silence tests what you know.

Even when GOD is silent, HE’s listening. GOD is good, GOD is faithful, GOD is righteous, and GOD is a holy even when HE’s silent

Suggestions from a slingshot —> 1 Samuel 17: 40, 43, 50 (v50 below)

“So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”

1. Embrace the source of your security - we need to be in GOD’s grip to protect us from things we can’t see.

2. Embrace the spinning that makes you successful - you will come out of this with more power, speed, acceleration than you had in your life. May this spinning season be your winning season. I’m spinning but I’m winning!

3. Embrace your significance even when others think you’re small. GOD will maximize what others will try to minimize. We’re fearfully and wonderfully made!!!

4. Embrace your strangeness as a superpower. In this season, you need to distance yourself from giants that think they are better than you.

5. Embrace the stone that changes the end of your story - the rock (Jesus) will keep us out of danger.

The paradox of focus —> Philippians 3:13-14

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”

Focus is choosing what deserves your attention

Focus is aligning your energy with your assignment.

Focus is discipline for your mind, body, and soul.

1. Focus releases and reaches - two movements but one spiritual posture.

2. Focus presses - focus is not passive, or casual. It requires you to push forward. When you press, GOD heals, provides, and protects.

3. Focus stewards purpose - focus ensures that you protect your purpose and what GOD is calling you to do!

GOD is a paradox - the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Your verbs activate GOD’s verbs.

Let’s get focused pt 3 —> 1 Samuel 17: 48-50 (v50 below)

“So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”

We don’t have to make time for GOD; we must put HIM FIRST

Talk to GOD first before you do anything. Watch favor follow you when you put GOD first.

How do you stay focused?

1. There are a series of actions you need to take. Your victory will be based on your verbs/actions. You need to put your feet in action! This is the season to be a doer of the word and not just a hearer only. Faith without works is dead! Put some verbs on that vision to get the victory!

2. There is silence as HE approaches. Success is curated in silence.

3. There are skills that gave HIM an advantage There is still room to develop skills. You should use your gifts for the glory of GOD

4. There are signs in the anointing. GOD will move you from overlooked to overbooked!

1 Samuel 17:48-50 —> Let’s get focused pt 2 (v50 below)

“…So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”

You won’t be able to get focused if you don’t control your distractions.

1. You need to faith it! This battle is not yours, it’s the Lord’s. There is a covenant, a promise and a vow with GOD. Walk in rooms with confidence!

2. You need to face it - this is the year to face what is robbing you of your joy! When you face it, GOD will help you fix it. Ask GOD for deliverance from your trauma responses:

Four trauma responses.
Fawn - making everyone happy
Freeze - looking for distractions
Fighters - walking in on 10 (angry). Hurt people hurt people
Flights - running away from the issue (including silent treatment)

3. You need to fight it. What’s in you gets revealed for when it’s time to fight. Get in and stay in the word and continue to worship GOD!

4. You need to finish it. Whatever GOD told you to do, finish it. You can start off bad butt GOD will help you finish it.

5. You need to flaunt it. Show off what GOD has done for you, and don’t forget to praise in advance.

1 Samuel 17:48-50 —> Let’s get focused (v50 below)

“So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”

If you want more focus, you are going to deal with distractions. Sometimes GOD allows a distraction to put your focus back on HIM.

We fall victim of too many distractions. Be aware of every distraction that is going to detour your focus.

In this passage, David was anointed KING and was tasked to slay Goliath (a distraction).

There are several distractions we need to get through:

1. The distraction of accusations - ignore distractions! Don’t get irrelevant people energy.

2. The distraction of low expectations - there is a distraction of people who don’t know who you are. Know yourself!

3. The distraction of imitation - there is always someone who wants you to do things the way they want it done - GOD can only bless you when you are yourself.

4. The distraction of intimidation - Don’t let people intimidate you! GOD will fight the battle for us. The battle is not yours!

Don’t let people put poison on your purpose.
