PASTOR SISTAPOOCHIE'S MORNING REFLECTIONS
"Everyone doing evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed." – John 3:20 (NIV)
Praise the Lord, family. Have you ever wondered why doing the right thing, speaking the truth, or simply walking into a room with peace sometimes provokes an immediate, ugly reaction? You didn't start an argument. You didn't insult anyone. Yet, you are met with sudden disrespect, attitude, or rejection.
We often internalize this. We ask ourselves, "What did I do wrong?" But today, I want to shift your perspective. That disrespect is not a sign of your failure. It is an indicator that the righteous light of God inside you is doing exactly what it was sent to do: it is exposing the dark.
The Word of God tells us exactly why this happens. In John 3:20, Jesus plainly says, "Everyone doing evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed."
Think about it naturally. If you are sleeping in a pitch-black room and someone suddenly flips on a bright overhead light, what do you do? You cover your eyes. You get agitated. You might even snap at the person who turned it on. You aren't actually mad at them; you are reacting to the sudden, uncomfortable exposure.
Spiritual darkness acts the exact same way. When you carry a clean spirit, an honest heart, and a righteous walk, you become a walking flashlight. Your presence inadvertently highlights the compromise, the jealousy, and the ungodliness in others. Their disrespect is a defense mechanism. They are attacking the mirror because they don't like the reflection.
