We at Bethel Christian Church wish to express our condolences to those victims, families and communities who are now suffering in the wake of the attacks last week in Atlanta. We desire to lament with those who lament and it is also right for us to declare what Scripture teaches, that all humans are made in the image of God, and possess dignity and value. This attack comes after a year where Asian Americans have felt increased discrimination and pressure and acts of violence, and we are sensitive to the ways that our communities have struggled to process everything in the wake of this tragedy. We firmly stand against any and all insults and acts violence done against our fellow human beings, especially harm done purely because of differences in race, gender, age or beliefs.

We also find the following statement from Julius Kim, President of The Gospel Coalition, and Professor at Westminster Seminary, very insightful and helpful and hope everyone can find encouragement from Dr. Kim's words.

“As I see and speak those eight murder victims’ names, my mind is having a hard time convincing my heart. It’s too personal and painful.”

Due to the severe weather conditions, the Elders have decided to cancel in-person service tomorrow. The Children's Message and Sermon will be live streamed. We will also provide resources for songs and scripture, which we encourage you to use in leading your family's private worship time.

Please check your email tomorrow morning for all the up-to-date information.

Thank you for your understanding. Have a blessed and safe Sunday!

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we will be suspending our worship service at the building. We will be working towards a remote solution.

In these trying times, we encourage everyone to stay connected to the God through his Word and prayer. We also encourage you to stay connected to His people through phone calls, video chats and text.

God is faithful and His providence will carry us through this season.
