E-Bulletin - May 30, 2026

Dear Friend,

With the end of May, we find ourselves entering directly into the heart of Summer. Graduation season is finishing up and we give enormous thanks filled with beaming pride for the 8th grade class of Saint Andrew School that graduated last night. We also look forward to offering a blessing for all graduates of every level of education after the 9:00am Mass this Sunday (read below) .

As we share in the rare 5th weekend in a single month, perhaps it is good to take a moment and see to it that we end May with a renewed appreciation for Mary, the Mother of God. The month of May is always dedicated to her and the May Crowning we held on May 6 and the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on May 8 were ways that we already honored her.

Having a few more days of May allow us to further enjoy the grace of the month by taking time to pray the rosary one more time, alone or with our families. May we always remember that those who seek the intercession of Mary will never be left unaided!

Key notifications for the week ahead at Saint Andrew Parish are listed below.

Blessing of Graduates As is the custom at Saint Andrew, the 9:00 am Mass on Sunday, May 31st, 2026 , will offer a blessing given for students graduating at any level of academic achievement, elementary school, high school, college or graduate levels. Please plan to attend the Mass in which we celebrate with you your accomplishment and ask God's blessings on your future endeavors.

Wearin' the Green The Wearin' the Green Committee is thrilled to announce that this year's fundraiser achieved an incredible over $305,000 in net profit in support of Saint Andrew Parish and School. Highlights from this year included $105,625 raised during our paddle raise plus an additional, generous $25,000 contribution from the Chicago Cubs Charities, totaling $130,625 for our Fund-a-Need for a school bathroom refresh! As planning begins for next year's event, we would greatly appreciate your feedback. Please take a few moments to complete a short survey and share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.

Last Chance for Totus Tuus Totus Tuus is a summer, week-long Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, apologetics, Christian witness, the sacraments, Marian devotion and Eucharistic worship for students entering grades one through 12. The program strives to help young people understand their faith through catechesis, so they may live in today’s world through a “parish mission” for the young students of the parish, all with a strong emphasis on fun. Totus Tuus will be offered at Saint Andrew Parish from June 22nd to June 26th. To find out more, visit our webpage at https://standrew.org/post/totus-tuus-2026/

E-Bulletin - April 25, 2026

Dear Friend,

This week we have two important announcements. First and maybe we should say "finally" (at least within the week) the Cubs have returned to the rightful place of first place in the division! You may have already known that, but it is good to see the neighborhood baseball team perform on an extended winning streak!

Secondly, and with both gratitude for service and sadness in the anticipated parting, we pass along the news that Chris O'Malley , our parish office manager for over 14 years, has decided to retire in the coming weeks/months. There is no specific date assigned to this retirement as she has committed to remain as our office manager until a replacement can be found, which we have only begun in light of her announcement.

Chris has been instrumental in the success of Saint Andrew Parish over the years. She always greeted visitors with a smile and kept callers connected and emails sent to the right person. She helped the parish navigate the COVID pandemic and worked hard through both health and infirmity. We will miss her ever-kind presence and wish her well in retirement (but not just yet). Please be sure to send her a word of thanks and gratitude when you have a moment.

E-Bulletin - April 11, 2026

Dear Friend,

We hope you are having a great weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead! As we walk through the neighborhood and see the emerging of flowers and trees coming to life, it's a good time to say a prayer of gratitude for all that God gives us, especially the Spring itself.

Here's an example of how easy such a prayer can be:

Dear Lord, thank you for the warmth of the sun and the beauty of new life blooming around us. As the earth awakens, I pray that you renew my heart and fill it with hope, joy, and gratitude for this fresh season. Amen.

Dear Friend,

The joy of Easter continues! Happy Easter!

As with many celebrations in the Church, the importance of one single day resonates into an entire season. Even while stores have taken down their decorations, in our hearts we are still filled with the joy of knowing that Christ is risen from the dead!

The second Sunday of Easter is also known as Divine Mercy Sunday and Saint Andrew parishioners are invited to join our covenant parish in a time of prayer for this feast day at Saint Benedict parish at 3:00pm tomorrow, Sunday April 12, 2026 where we will join in adoration and confession.
