St Patrick Fathers Chicago

St Patrick Fathers Chicago St. Patrick’s Missionary Society first came to the U.S. 1954 for the purpose of mission awareness and Patrick’s Missionary Society first came to the U.S.

in 1954 for the purpose of mission awareness and promotion of our missionary work in Africa, South America and the Caribbean. Our first house was located in Camden Town, New Jersey. We have since relocated to Chicago where we have been since 1968. While our main focus continues to be the promotion of our missionary work we also have a long tradition of service to the wider Irish community here in Chicago.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, pray for us. 🙏🌹✝
On this feast day, we honour the blessed Mother who appeared to St Juan Diego with a message of love, protection, and hope. ❤
May Our Lady cover us with her mantle, guide our steps, and bring peace to all who seek her intercession. ✝

We share uplifting news from Fr Livinus Onogwu in Kenya:✨ 😊 🕊 🙏
We are grateful to God for the gift of our newly admitted eight Kenyans into St Patrick's formation. They come from the dioceses of Bungoma, Kisii, Wote, Kitale and Mombasa. They will start their formation journey in January 2026 at our Nakuru Formation House. 🏡 The renovation of Nakuru Formation House is now completed. Fr Innocent Olise and Fr Johnson Ovat will be their Formators. We wish them well as we continue to pray that the Lord of the harvest will send more fine young men into his missionary vineyard. 🙏🙏

Mother’s Day prayer!
Dear God, we thank you for the gift of mothers, for their Love, Guidance, and Care. Please bless them with Your Grace, Strength, and Wisdom as they continue to nurture and support their families. Surround them with Your Love and Peace, and let them know how deeply they are appreciated and cherished.
In Jesus name, we pray.
Amen.

Our November issue of Africa Magazine is out now!

The November edition of the Africa magazine is out now!
Some of the articles you will find in it:
Fr John Joyce introduces us to the English Jesuit poet and convert, Gerard Manley Hopkins SJ, who in his writings celebrates the uniqueness of every person: ‘Christ plays in ten thousand places’.
Anne Cowley continues her series The Hare’s Corner with a very enlightening piece on the tremendous contribution old walls make to promoting biodiversity. You will never look at an old wall in the same way again after reading Anne’s article!
Fr Eamonn Hayden tells the story of an altar which has been in the possession of the Society for decades, that originated in a castle. It is an interesting story tracing family and Society roots.

There are many more articles for you to enjoy.
Thanks to all our readers for your continued interest and support. Happy reading!
