OASIS (Older Adults Sharing in Service) meets for fellowship on the first Thursday of every month at 11:30am. Friends are invited to bring their lunch and come for some comradery and support. The group also plans to gather for some Wednesday night musical offerings this summer at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Traditional Worship at 10am - In the gospel reading for today, the disciples hear of God's intimate knowledge of and deep care for them. They will need to be grounded in this assurance as they face persecution and attack, with their faith as a place of rest and strength when the unjust take action against them.

As we continue to reframe our resistance during Pride month, we rediscover our foundation of faith in the enduring truth of God's expansive love, and we find joy celebrating the beauty and gifts of LGBTQIA+ lives. Jesus says several surprising things today: that he has come to bring, not peace, but a sword; and that followers must love him more than they love their own family members.

On the hardest days, when oppressive forces and evil seem to be winning, it will be difficult to feel assured of God's concern, yet God will see them through and ensures them that though they may lose their lives, they will also find them with joy. This is the eternal promise extended to all who seek love.

Blessings to all the fathers, uncles, granddads and godfathers in our lives, whether past, present, or future, as well as to those who are a fathering figure to others, extending love to all

On behalf of Edgebrook Lutheran Church, Pastor Christina received the Girl Scouts Enthusiast Award. Since the early 1990s, ELC has been a valued supporter of both Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs in the community, making a space to troop meetings, activities, trainings, social events, and even drive-thru cookie booths.

Service Unit 295 monthly Leader Meetings, along with Troop #25669 serving Edgebrook, Troop #26276 serving Edgebrook, Sauganash, and Jefferson Park, Boy Scout Troop #957, and the newly emerging Cub Scout Park #3957 all call Edgebrook Lutheran Church home.

ELC is grateful for our scout troops, the ways they are learning and growing, and the ways which they are serving in the community.

Every summer, residents from Lutheran Social Services of Illinois’ Community Intact Living Arrangements have a picnic at Edgebrook Lutheran Church! Fun Day Activities hosted by our Service and Justice leaders, burgers on the grill from Men’s Ministry, dessert from the Chocolate Shoppe, and music led by our music director David Bugher made this year the best one yet!

Sending holiday baskets and birthday bags as well as remodeling in the homes, ELC has partnered with the Artesian and Palmer Square group homes for 10 years! Thank you to all of our volunteers and to the staff of the CILA homes for ensuring the residents had another great time!

Join us this Sunday, June 14th at 10am over at Edgebrook Community Church, for our 5th annual ecumenical Pride Worship Service!

Led by our youth in worship, we will gather for a community celebration of God's unconditional love for all their beloved children! Our theme, Love is Louder, embodies the testimony of Jesus and calls on the Church to be faithful siblings to one another – friend and stranger – for the sake of love. Let’s root ourselves in the spirit of Jesus’s call to love our neighbors as ourselves! Come and be transformed by love!

Following the service, we will also host a Pride Party with a special pop-up from locally and LGBTQIA+ owned October Cafe!

VBS Registration is LIVE! all kids preschool (age 3+ as of July 2026) - 5th grade are invited to join us for Compassion Camp on July 20th-24th from 5:00-7:30pm at Edgebrook Lutheran Church. There is no cost to participate and dinner will be provided each night.
