Man's Purpose
The entire members of House of His Presence welcomes you to another refreshing time in His presence.
The purpose of anything is a major distinguishing factor of such thing from others. For example, a television is uniquely different from a refrigerator primarily because of its purpose. The purpose of anything is what its maker envisioned before the making it. In other words, conceiving of a product and understanding its purpose precede the making. The making of any product usually starts with a clear understanding of its intended purpose, use and target audience.
In 1800, when Humphrey Davy, an English inventor, invented the first electric arc, what he thought of was something that will replace the oil lit lamps and will still serve the purpose of illumination. This was the beginning of several modifications or inventions by multifarious inventors of electricity light before getting to where we currently are.
If the purpose of a thing is not known or understood, abuse becomes inevitable. From the biblical existence of man, his purpose was distinctively pronounced. Having dominion over and the replenishing the earth was paramount to his creation.
In the biblical beginnings, the Maker purposed in His heart, having consulted with the Triune council, to make man in His image - Gen 1:26. From that verse, we can agree that:
1. God created every creature to have a shape or an image.
2. The creatures created by God did not resemble God.
3. God wanted a creature that will have His image and His likeness
4. Man was given a higher mandate to have dominion over all other creatures created by Him.
In subsequent verses, God blessed man by pronouncing fruitfulness, multiplication and filling the earth upon him. He reemphasized the mandate of “having dominion” over all other creatures created.
Although, the beasts of the field were made from the same dust of the earth, His breath made the difference in man. This breath cannot be overemphasized because that is His Spirit and what makes Him who He is. The same breath gave man his creative abilities. God can never die, the breath was supposed to make man live forever. The purpose of man was very clear from those scriptures. He will look like God and also behave like God. God can talk to man, have fellowship with him and even consult with him.
God emphasized the mandate of dominion, so for no reason is a man equal to the beast. The beast has its place so does man. Man's place is higher and must not be confused with the place of the beast.
Man lost his purpose and place when he not only equate himself with but also gave the dominion mandate to the beast. The beast had dominion over man; relegating the image and the likeness of God in him to the ground. The serpent, subtle and very cunning in its ways, manipulated the womb man to trade his place and purpose. He lost his purpose immediately from that moment. God could not have the fellowship; neither could He consult with man. The immortal man became mortal.
For restoration to occur there must be a reconnect to God. There is need for a reawakening of that particular breath in man. Romans 8:11 says "But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you".
Mortality is synonymous with death. Mortality had dominion over immortality when man's purpose was abused. Sin and abuse go hand-in-hand. Sin cuts off the nature of God in man. The carrier of His power becomes virtually empty. In Matthew 26: 69-75, Peter denied Jesus Christ. This is understandable as he was without the power of the Holy Spirit, but in Acts 2 from verse 14, the same timid Peter became so bold that he even challenged the Pharisees and the Sadducees who were behind the crucifixion of Christ.
God made a declaration immediately over the beast, putting enmity between it and man - Gen 3:14-15. He also prophesied the coming of Messiah, the Savior, who will deliver man from this body of death, reconcile man back to God and give him eternal life.
In other words, man will live forever again as God originally intended OR planned in the beginning - Jn 3:16, Rom 5:10; 11:14-15, Col 1:21.
