Goodbyes are hard :’)

This past week, we sent off our pastoral couple, DP and Cata, to Ann Arbor, where they’ll be helping lead our sister church there.

We’re so thankful for how they’ve shepherded and led our church these past 7(!!) years in Chicago — teaching God’s Word, leading prayer meetings, planning retreats and road trips, and faithfully sitting with many of us through office hours and impactful conversations.

We’ll miss DP and Cata very, very much 🥲 and will keep them in our prayers. We’ll be running hard for Jesus here in Chicago as they do the same in Ann Arbor! 🏃‍♂️

As we say goodbye, we’re also excited to welcome James and Claire, who will be leading our Chicago church 💛

If you’re around this summer, come say hi to James and Claire at our Sunday service, which is in Evanston at 12 p.m. 👋🏻

can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of graduation season. so many bittersweet goodbyes, heartfelt thank-yous, and celebrations of the end of one chapter and the start of the next. 💛

We all fall short, mess up, and feel the weight of failure in our walk with Jesus.

In John 21, after Peter denies Jesus three times, Jesus meets him not with judgment, but with grace. He sees Peter clearly and asks with tenderness, “Do you love me?”

As our seniors step into a new season with new transitions and challenges ahead, this is a sweet reminder for all of us: Jesus sees us clearly, failures and all, and still invites us to be restored to him.

Throwback to our ERT at UIUC! ☀️

We had a great time meeting students and putting on an apologetics event where we answered big questions about Christianity, like: did Jesus rose from the dead? Is he God? Do all religions lead to God? 🤔

We also got to hang out with our sister church at UIUC playing sports and… till the ice cream shop turned their lights off 😋🍦 (*cues photo in the dark*) .ui .uiuc

may 6 - hyde park & evanston
may 17 - hyde park
may 24, 31 & june 6 - evanston

🕛 sunday service stars at 12pm at all locations
there will be no downtown sunday service for the summer ☀️

Throwback to our Connect Group Leaders retreat! 🥏🫨 Our prospective and returning CGLs had a great time visiting the Billy Graham Museum, reading the Bible together, and getting our game on with ultimate frisbee! ☀️

Huge shoutout to our CGLs who lead Connect Groups, serve at Sunday services, and bring the gospel to their campuses! Thank you for all that you do! 🙌🏻
