Metropolitan Apostolic Community Church Contact information, map and directions, contact form, opening hours, services, ratings, photos, videos and announcements from Metropolitan Apostolic Community Church, Religious Center, 4100 S. King Drive, Chicago, IL.

The Metropolitan Apostolic Community Church believes that we are called to change the world so that all are free of oppression of poverty and of being forced to submit to the will of others. It is ironic that in 1927 the predominately white First Presbyterian Church congregation fled to the Woodlawn community to escape the black southern migration activity feeling safe and protected by the Univers

ity of Chicago Campus. 75 years later, in 2004, a relatively small community church of Woodlawn known as the Christ Apostolic Church, under the leadership of a dynamic Pastor and advocate for social justice, made it possible to save the Bronzeville gem from demolition. To that end, we celebrate the enormous contribution both churches made to the history and culture of black Chicago history as we, the Metropolitan Apostolic Community Church, with the help of the Lord, continue on our mission to lift the consciousness of God’s people.
