From New Years this year ❤️‍🔥
Described as “an INTIMATE GATHERING where BLACK JOY, LIBERATION, and SENSUAL MOVEMENT reign supreme. This is MORE than a party — it’s a RITUAL of unity, connection, and UNAPOLOGETIC celebration of our culture, our bodies, and our freedom.”
It clearly was all that and more- we are so lucky to have had such a joyous start to the new year here!! Thank you

We finished the year with a candlelight Christmas Eve service alongside , sharing light and warmth together amidst the longest nights of the year. And then on top of it all, we got to end the evening around the table eating . It has been a long year but we are so lucky to share our space with neighbors and friends. Thank you if you came by this year and helped bring a little warmth and light to us too. Here’s to many more, may each passing year leave us more free and with more grace to give each other. 🕯️❤️‍🔥🕯️

We are welcoming quite a few new people to this page, and we wanted to introduce ourselves first through what we believe at First Presbyterian. We are rooted in Christian theology, affiliated with the . We value experimentation in worship, the arts, and activism as core elements of our faith- we aim to be a spiritual home for all troublemakers, misfits, and mystics.

We share our space with people of all faiths and no faith- whoever you are, wherever you are from, whatever you believe (or struggle to believe), you are welcome here. We also believe it is important to be up-front and clear about our own faith commitments and how they shape us. So here they are!

We have a lot of faith based programming beyond our Sunday service, including bible studies and prayer fellowships, which take place both in person and online. Our church is a home for a lot beyond our religious services too, hosting a myriad of artists and activists rooted in our South Side community and beyond. If you would like to support us in any and all of the above, you can find a donation link in our bio. This goes toward providing a safe, clean, and beautiful space for our faith and our community.

And if you’d like to spend some time here through any one of our programs, you can find out more through our website.

We are praying for the safety, freedom, and joy of every person on this earth- thank you for being here 🕊️❣️

During this season of Lent, some in our congregation will be logging off from social media as we center ourselves more deeply in the present world.

We are also participating in a nationwide boycott to divest our time, attention, and resources from companies and institutions that show contempt for their workers and for the earth.

We withdraw—not to escape the world, but to become more deeply connected to it.

This page will be inactive until Easter.

Peace be with you. 🖤
