Chicago Community Mennonite Church is a faith community that accepts Jesus' invitation to follow him in love, truth and service. We seek and find God in innovative worship, in the Bible, in caring and supportive relationships, in celebration, and in creative engagement with the world. We expect our encounter with God to be transformed by our chosen urban setting, and we expect ourselves and our ur

Our congregation seeks especially to nurture and support the spiritual development of people of all ages, the work of those who serve humanity, and the quest of those who seek deeper understanding of God's will for their lives. We offer refuge and healing to those who have been hurt by religion and its institutions, and by the pain and cries of contemporary life. Our collective processes of decision-making reflect our commitment to equality. By researching carefully, sharing information widely, and communicating openly, we strive to create opportunities for each one among us to express his or her opinions, priorities, and beliefs. While we listen to each other, we also listen for God's leading through prayer, pastoral and lay leadership, quiet contemplation, and communal discernment. We are committed to the challenge of holding our divergent values in tension: we are a close-knit community that welcomes the stranger; we value our many differences and we are united in our Mennonite identity; we honor each individual's journey and we are committed to traveling together. We experience the creative spirit of God working in and through our congregation's history and character. We seek greater awareness of the social and spiritual needs of our local and global communities, and we pray for the courage to listen and respond to God's call.

Please join us for this year's Dunes Sunday (August 3 @ 10 AM CDT) at the Indiana Dunes National Park. It's going to AWESOME!! Apparently, this area is one of the most ecologically diverse places in the midwest. Doug Kauffman from the Anabaptist Climate Collaborative is going to lead us in a Wild Church experience that helps us connect with and pray for the earth. Wild Church will be followed by a potluck and beach time.

Indiana Dunes National Park charges $25/vehicle or $15/pedestrian/cyclist.

Spring Cleaning Dream Team! 🙌 Thanks to the Peace Justice and Service (PJS) committee for organizing our Outdoor Spring Clean up! During Second Hour, we headed outside to remove debris around the church and garden. 🌱
