Some burdens were never meant to be carried alone.
Jesus offers rest to the weary, hope to the discouraged, and an invitation to come to Him just as we are. At Pacific Garden Mission, this promise is at the heart of everything we do as we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who walk through our doors. ❤️
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 KJV
🙏 May this promise encourage someone who needs it today.

Meet Julita, one of the dedicated members of our Hospitality Department! ❤️
For the past 3½ years, Julita has faithfully served in Hospitality, helping care for the daily needs of those who come through the doors of Pacific Garden Mission.
Her favorite Bible passage is Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV):
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
We’re thankful for Julita and her continued service at PGM! 🙏

Some losses change a life forever. But even in the deepest grief, God’s mercy can reach us. ❤️
After losing his four-year-old son, Kenneth Lewis found himself overwhelmed by grief and despair. His journey eventually brought him to Pacific Garden Mission, where faithful friends, biblical truth, and the love of Christ helped him begin moving toward hope and restoration.
Kenneth’s story is a powerful reminder that even when life feels shattered, God is still at work. 🙏

Testimonies:
Latosha: Latosha’s journey has been marked by addiction, homelessness, depression, and years of carrying shame and guilt. After becoming involved in gangs and substance abuse, she found herself searching for hope and a new beginning. Through Pacific Garden Mission and God’s transforming work in her life, Latosha is now discovering healing, purpose, and freedom in Christ, while desiring to become a light to her family and an encouragement to others.

Ashley & Treva: Ashley and her mother Treva faced an unexpected crisis when they were forced to leave their apartment with only days to prepare. After months of uncertainty and temporary housing, they returned to Pacific Garden Mission knowing it would provide safety and stability. Through every challenge, they have leaned on faith, supported one another, and discovered that even in difficult seasons, God continues to provide hope and open doors for the future.

Wesley: Wesley’s life changed dramatically after the loss of his father led him into a season of depression and hardship. As circumstances unraveled, he faced housing instability and uncertainty about the future, but through Pacific Garden Mission he found encouragement, safety, and the opportunity to begin rebuilding. Today, Wesley is moving forward with renewed hope as he pursues employment and housing while trusting that this difficult chapter is only the beginning of a new story.

Sermon: “Don’t Let Failure Define You”: Failure often convinces people that their story is over, but Scripture tells a different story. Following Joshua after Israel’s defeat at Ai and Jacob as he wrestled with God, this message explores how God can use our lowest moments to reveal hidden issues, strengthen our dependence on Him, and redirect our path. While the past may explain where we have been, this sermon reminds us that it does not have to determine where we are going.

Since 1877, Pacific Garden Mission has been a place of refuge and transformation. Millions weary of struggling through life's storms, have come to the "Old Lighthouse” seeking food, shelter, clothing, medical, and dental care.
