Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity

Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity is an inclusive, welcoming church of the Beverly/Morgan Park Emma Hilliard at 9412 S. Pleasant Avenue.

On October 18, 1899, in a barn in the backyard of the home of Mrs. Longwood Drive, the Church of the Holy Nativity was born. The congregation repaired and decorated the barn. The Reverend Harold Morse, rector of Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Morgan Park, became the spiritual leader and rector. Over a three year period, the women of the congregation raised $1000.00. By 1905, the new parish mo

ved to their new home on the corner of 95th Street and Longwood Drive. In 1945, the parish grew out of the church on Longwood. So, $40,000 needed to be raised to build the church at its present location on 9300 S. While awaiting the completion of construction, services were held in the Parish House. The Sanctuary was consecrated in November 1954
